It has been passed a few month from the day when the monsters reached the surface and everything seemed fine even if the little human had decided to remain with her skeletons friends since she considered them like her big brothers. She has never had brothers and her true family was too far away. She had to wait their return but until that moment, she could stay here with these friendly skeletons monsters. AmĂ©lie, this was the name of the little human who saved the Underground thanks to her determination, was truly happy to stay with them, so she could not feel alone anymore. She was still so young and she needed the help of some adult person, even if she was capable to take care of herself, since she was a hero, after all. She lived in Snowdin with two brothers, Sans and Papyrus. The first was an excited and sweet skeleton, the youngest of the two, he was so energetic and friendly, AmĂ©lie loved his company so much. While, Papyrus was the oldest brother, and also the laziest and the weirdest person she has ever known in her life, even if she has not lived so much, she was just a young lady. She found both of them so interesting and funny in their own way. Today was one of those lazy days that seemed never ending. Sans was at his job so AmĂ©lie was so bored and she wanted to spend some time with Papyrus even if he did not seem to be very interested at it and he preferred to take a nap, instead. Sometime he was so exaggerated with his idle behaviour. He should have drunken more coffee to feel awake. She had an idea, she could prepare something to him for waking him up, so he could play with her a little more, for once. The little girl reached the kitchen, jumping like a kangaroo through the desert since her steps were quite comical. It was Sans’ favourite place and he always recommended her to clean after she finished her duties, even if he preferred she did not cook anything since she was a little girl and she could hurt herself someway, the kitchen was not exactly the right place for a kid. There, so many things could be dangerous. AmĂ©lie had no idea of where the coffee was located, but she had neither any idea of how to prepare a coffee, but it did not seem so difficult, since she saw Muffet prepared it anytime even if the spider woman used that weird machine in her cafĂ© and AmĂ©lie did not own something like that. The little girl had to find a normal coffee machine. This kitchen was clean and reordered, but it was also so big and complicated, so she started to search for the coffee machine everywhere. She opened every drawers, pantries, seeing every corners and angles. She checked everywhere. Unluckily, she found something else. She found the supply of Papyrus’ alcohol since he had had that kind of issue but it seemed he was still dependent on it. It was really bad and Sans would have been so angry because of it. AmĂ©lie did not have any idea of this situation and she did not know this story or the reason why Papyrus was an alcoholic so she was not questioning herself about these things. Sans commended her to not even touch these bottles because they were too dangerous, not children’s stuff. One day, AmĂ©lie asked to him if she could take a taste of it, and Sans looked at her with the same eyes of a severe and angry mother. He prohibited to her even to have those kinds of thoughts. He could be very austere when he wanted, but kids could be very impertinent in the same way, for this reason Sans often seemed like a mother hen, he truly worried about her health and he did not want her to become like his brother, since laziness was not the only problem Papyrus got. She was still searching for coffee but she only found those bottles and a strange idea crossed her mind. She felt a little curious since she often saw Papyrus so happy when he was drunk, a little taste would have not hurt anybody, right? Nobody was going to find her since Sans was not here and Papyrus was sleeping somewhere, so she was free to do whatever she desired.Â
Amélie took the bottle containing a mysterious liquid, its smell was really strong and acid, it was enough to get her drunk, but she was determinate enough to go through this. Determination was not always a good virtue if it would have made to take persons the wrong decision. She was just a little naive, but very curious as well. After the first taste, she started to cough because it was horrible. How could Papyrus enjoy something like this? It was something disgusting. Medicines had a better taste than this. But it was enough to get her drunk, since her head started to spin around. It was like staying inside those weird teacups at the Luna Park that turned around until you became crazy. It was the same feeling she perceived now. It was not good, at all. After, Amélie felt her body heavier but lighter at the same time, she laughed without a reason. She had a lot of energy, so she decided to check the kitchen snooping around everywhere. The kitchen was not the perfect place where a little girl should have played. Her attention was caught by a set of knives, their blades were shining like silver, they seemed so dangerous but beautiful at the same time. A weird sensation crossed her mind. Amélie grabbed one of those knives starting to use it as if it was a sword. She pretended to be a samurai or a ninja. She screamed aloud jumping on the chairs and on the table, laughing like crazy. After some while, the sound of the open door echoed in the corridor, someone went inside the house, it was his half-brother Sans, who came back from his training. All those sounds took Sans in the kitchen and he jumped when he saw his little sibling bringing a knife like it was a majorette stick, it was a horrible vision. He screamed her name, louder. Amélie jolt, throwing the knife somewhere, even if she was still laughing because of the alcohol she drunk before. The knife flew through the room crashing into the window; this broke down in thousand pieces. Sans was truly shocked, and he did not know what to say or what has already happened. She seemed crazy! Then, the little girl spoke, with a cheerful voice, « I was pretending to be a ninja and the blade of the knife just flew right off and broke the window». Sans looked at her with his eyes wide open, it was too strange and he wanted an explication now. «Oh, god. Why were you pretending being a ninja?», despite his shocked state, he seemed still calm and kind, even if he was a little angry. Then, Sans smelled the alcohol in her breath and this was the moment his voice became a little harsher. It was rare seeing him like this, but he could not tolerate alcohol because it evocated bad memories in his mind. «And why are you smelling like alcohol? Did you drink something?». Sans thought, he thrown all those battles in the trash but maybe his brother bought new ones. Sans could never stay in peace. The little skeleton had to do two lectures now, to Amélie but even to Papyrus because he had those bottles when he promised to Sans he would have never drunken again. Sans felt a little depressed because it seemed he has failed like a brother, like he was speaking with the wall.  Amélie was a little confused, she tried to say something, «No, I did not drink anything… Ah, maybe I tasted but not actually drunk». It was quite true. Sans pondered about it, deciding to get her in detention anyway because she had to learn this lesson. Moreover, Sans would have done the same with his brother, for sure. Papyrus could appear like the big brother but sometime he acted like a child. At the end, Sans understood she was just a naive little girl but he made her promise to him she was not going to do it again because it was very dangerous. Sans realized his brother was not a good example for her, even if he was not a bad person, but just a lazy skeleton with alcohol issues. He thought those problems were gone, but maybe Papyrus was still suffering because of those terrible nightmares. Sans decided also to hide all the knives of the house, he had the feeling that Papyrus would have been shocked seeing Amélie holding a knife, since it was an element that appeared very often in his bad dreams. Sans should have checked better his brother’s health and his sister’s behaviour since he was still a good brother and he could not leave alone his family, it did not matter how problematic it could be.
