Story Time: Some of you know that every song by The Cranberries and Dolores have meant something to my life which is rare to have musicians write songs and each one is completely and totally relatable and almost identical to your own experiences. One in particular I want to talk about is Hollywood off the album To the Faithful Departed. When I came back from L.A., I was alone in my thoughts and suffering, I felt like no one in the world would ever understand how I felt and why I left. Then I put on Hollywood just because and when I listened, I finally got it and I was no longer the only one who had these feelings. After listening to Hollywood, I went onto listen to Free To Decide and was reminded of that very thing, I was free to make my own decisions about my life’s direction and there was no reason to let the dark feelings take over me because I’m free. I’m still on this road of forgiving myself. I pulled out the Florida/California pillow that none of you as my followers or friends knew about until now. I won’t be posting pictures of it anytime soon. I stuffed the pillow in the back of my closet for two years unable to look at it because I’d just cry. My Mom went with me to shop for my students today as it was the first day I felt good after the stomach virus. I’ve been cleaning out my room to get ready to move out somewhere else. During this chore, I took out the pillow and just stared at it. I told my Mom about the pillow, how I was unsure about it still. She said, “maybe it’s time to take the pillow out.” Maybe, we’ll see what decision I make, whatever decision I make is for the good of my dreams coming true and following my heart.
