I have just realised what the aesthetic of "Stardust City Rag" reminded me of: Blake's 7. It was totally a homage to "Gambit".

I wonder how much is a conscious homage, and how much is a kind of convergent evolution that happens when you filter a Trek-esque setting through a cyberpunk sensibility?
Freecloud seems like the kind of place that should have some Ferengis on it, so I’ll be disappointed if some don’t turn up in the background.
I like how you can immediately tell that Freecloud, unlike the Federation, is a capitalist economy by the fact that visitors are immediately bombarded by pop-up adverts.
