Short Story: I could have been abducted.

When I was younger, maybe around six, I was playing outside in my front yard. I was alone. My mom and dad were inside doing chores and what not about the house while I played. I remember I was sitting on the ground, no clue what I was playing as I didn’t have any dolls with me or toys. I loved being outside though.

Anyways, I was playing and an old beat up car was approaching. Our house was the first one on our dead end street so it didn’t take them long to stop outside my house. I had stood up by then and was expecting them to just roll by. When the two men in the car stopped outside of my house and rolled down the window I began to get a little nervous.

“Hey, have you seen a puppy running around here?”

I looked at them for a dramatic 10 seconds and then took off running into my house.

I explained to my mom and dad that there were two men in a car outside.

I don’t remember much of what happened after that. Oddly enough I think they were actually looking for their puppy who had run away earlier that day. But as a 6 year old I didn’t think that. I immediately went to “they’re trying to kidnap me” because that’s what you see in the movies and the news.

“I have free candy” “I have a puppy” Or even the classic, “my puppy is lost, can you help me find him”.

God knows I love animals. If I hadn’t been taught about strangers I probably would have gone to help them look!
