Why Doesn't My Hair Stay Gone After My First Wax?

As an esthetician who's been waxing guests for two decades, it's one of the questions I hear most often.

The answer isn't that your wax "didn't work." It's that your hair is following its natural growth cycle.

Every hair on your body grows independently. Some hairs are actively growing, others are resting beneath the skin, and others are preparing to shed. During your appointment, I can only remove the hairs that have reached the surface.

That's why consistency matters.

When you stay on a regular 4–6 week waxing schedule, we gradually catch more hairs as they enter the right stage of growth. Over time, many guests notice smoother skin, more even regrowth, and easier maintenance.

I encouraged the bartender to add a Cursed Drink to avoid the bar becoming cursed! He doesn't know what drink would be the most cursed. He suggested Fernet and Malort. That's pretty cursed!

I think a cursed shot should also involve hot pepper sauce and fire. And maybe pickle juice. What do you think?

Food: 4/5 – The pastries include morning buns, muffins, croissants, kouign ammans, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cake, and more. They also have breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, bagels, and more. I like the grilled ham and cheese, the bechamel and cheesy topping make it different from your typical grilled cheese.

Coffee: 5/5 – There is no espresso machine. Coffee is brewed one cup at a time. The coffee is broken down by roast: light, medium or dark roast. You specify the amount of sweetness and cream. I like how the coffee is very strong. They also have tea and hot cocoa.

Wi-fi: 4/5 – Free, unlimited, no password required

Ambiance: 5/5 – Light woods, yellow accents, hanging round pendant lamps, large windows facing the street

Noise: 5/5 – Quiet music, quiet customers

Plugs: 5/5 – Plenty of outlets

Parking: 4/5 – Shared parking lot in the back, some 10 minute spaces, others do not have specified time limit, can be hard to find parking if the lot is full (2 hours free around the neighborhood)

Comfort: 3/5 – Plastic chairs and a few upholstered chairs, small tables, one long communal counter for camping

Bathroom: 5/5 – Two unisex, code required
