#30daysoffade DAY 11 : MESSAGES FROM THE FREE JON CAMPAIGN TEAM 

  When I opened the #FreeJon page, I only thought of it as a way to push the joke about Jon’s kidnapping a little further, especially after having fun with fans about it on Twitter. Never would I have thought that six months later, I’d be still managing it, discussing about fan/trolling projects and, above all, gather a few hundreds of fans both on Twitter and FB around it (seriously, I was already surprised when it reached 100 fans on FB). This all started as a trolling project after all ! Never would I have expected to get great and amazing Mods such as Michelle, the Canadian Moderator who immediately embarked on the adventure when I asked her to join, and Alisa, the American representative, ready to troll around the world with a #FreeJon sign in hand or a pen to tag it on walls. I couldn’t have dreamt of better people to have some serious fun with. Never would I have expected to encounter new interesting people either like Sandy, the webmistress of KingofDawn, whom I am now doing Skype conversations at night with, or Mariya who’s not only a big fan of Hedgie Devil (*cough*G*cough*) but also turned into the biggest fan of fade EVER. Now that I listed all the unexpected things that happened for the last six months, I can list what I can expect from the future. And I think I can only wish one thing for #FreeJon : To actively participate in making fade and YFCz fandoms grow in the months to come and maybe in the years to come ! HAHA ! Oh yeah, and I wish the fandom atmosphere can stay as it is right now : YOU, #FREEJON-ERS ARE JUST GREAT ! It is such a pleasure to discuss with you or just to see you reacting to our updates and trolling, guys ! So I’ll just conclude this (long) message with these words : We’ve worked pretty hard in making this campaign a bit memorable but a campaign is NOTHING without supporters ! So THANK YOU for following the #FreeJon campaign ! And let’s keep up with the trolling !! ;)   - Lucie, French MOD and Founder of the #FreeJon campaign.

    I feel like I already said so much in my first post regarding the progression of #FreeJon.

But, on a personal level, I have been amazed by how long and how far this community has come. When Lucie asked me to join the team as the American Representative (after seeing photos of me starting the sign trolling down in Anaheim for the BUNRAKU premiere) I agreed ecstastically… But I did not even consider all the things that would come of it. Many of you know that I had the chance to go to Germany this summer in order to see Jon and YFCz perform, to help spread the word of the #FreeJon campaign and to throw a red bra to my American brother in Berlin ^_~ I was thrilled to meet so many other wonderful #FreeJon-ers, not just from Germany, but from around the world, helping me see just how connected this family really is. Because of this, I have tried my best to continue to push the #FreeJon Campaign alongside the other campaign leaders and all our supporters and followers. And I hope to see this continue, as I fully intend to continue spread the love and the trolling when YFCz come to the Americans. Currently, I hope everyone is enjoying the #30daysoffade event because I personally have fallen in love with this band and hope that we can make their fan base just as incredible and diverse as the YFCz one. I cannot even begin to describe how deeply and genuinely touched I am to be a part of this family: YFCz, fade and #FreeJon. Thank you, to everyone, and I can assert that I will work ever harder to share even a portion of the love that I feel. I hope that this project, and these fandoms have brought as much laughter and as much joy to you, as it has to me. -Alisa, American Representative and MOD

     I can't believe it's been six months!  It really feels like not too long ago we were following the troll king's example and doing some trolling of our own by aiming to Free Jon.  And look at where we are now.  We've grown so much from those early days!  It's been so awesome to see not just all the love being shown for these guys but to see the support grow over time, all the fanworks and fan translation sites and even the first fade fansite.  fade really deserves it all and I'm so happy I got to be a part of it.  Here's to another six months!

     So, wow, it’s already half a year of #FreeJon! Who, honestly, would have expected that in the beginning? I am pretty new into this Fandom and also the “Network”, as it seems everyone in the Fade-Fandom is helping each other and works together by now.

 I joined around August, when I started with KingOfDawn, and must admit that at first I saw #FreeJon like an ‘enemy’, since I came from a Fandom where I was treated with envy and jealousy, for doing the official web of a band and therefore was trained to be a lonesome rider. Within weeks #FreeJon’s Admins, especially Lucie back then, and people like Ryuik and Lintares made it to convince me that working in a team is much better.

 In general, looking back from where we all are now, it is awesome how #FreeJon influenced even lives already. The Campaign has connected people, has changed opinions and moreover and really important also – it has turned hate into understanding, I think. In the beginning there was so much hate against Jon in YFC and now little by little I see things changing, by comments I read, etc.

Of course, basically Jon reached that himself, but Campaigns like #FreeJon supported by also handing information to people, as recently with “30 Days Of Fade”.

To finish my perspective on this project as more or less an “Outsider”, I must say, that I didn’t expect the Campaign would become what it is now, but the happier I am, that it did become like that. It was the first big Campaign to support Jon, YFC and Fade and it has become very meaningful to many people. I hope we will all keep working and supporting together – for many, many more months and years!

I think I can say I joined #FreeJon on June, 13 - when I made an "introduction" post about Jon in my LJ. To say truth, I was confused about the idea of the 2nd vocalist in GACKT's band, but I liked Jon immediately after watching press con - he was so good in his role of a poor kidnapped guy not understanding what's going on ^^ And after searching for the info about him, reading his interviews, listening to his works and fade songs I realized that I'm definitely falling for him and his band, and this love needs to be shared. So it was only natural that I liked the idea of #FreeJon campaign. I also was impressed with enthusiasm and devotion of its creators and participants ^^ Everyone wanted to support this awesome guy. But the moment when I felt I'm really a part of the campaign was probably July, 22 when I showed this very sign to him before the 2nd YFC live in Paris. The sign was made in a rush, I just scribbled it with a ball pen in a notebook, under the rain. But I hope he has noticed and liked it. This piece of paper gives me such a good nostalgic feeling now, it's even surprising. First #FreeJon was more like a joke, as for me, and I never thought it would take such an important place in my fandom life like it does now. Thanks to the campaign during these 6 months I've been able to meet so many wonderful people and live so many happy/touching/memorable moments.. My huge THANK YOU and best wishes go to #FreeJon, its mods and members. Let's continue to have 'serious fun' together supporting Jon and fade.

#30daysoffade - DAY 11 : #FREEJON SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY

#FreeJon-ers from around the world... Russia, Sweden, England, America, Germany, Spain and there are so many more.

Let me start off by saying that all of us over here at the head of the #FreeJon Campaign couldn’t believe it, but, today is the SIX MONTH anniversary of our campaign. 

The official #FreeJon began June 11, 2011, only two days after it was revealed at the YFCz press conference that Jon Underdown had been “kidnapped” and was being held as a hostaged vocalist by our beloved YELLOE FRIE... YELLOW FREID CHI… YELOW FRIDE C… YELLOW FUCKIN CHI… YELLOW FRIED CHIKE-….. /ahem/…. YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz.

  Headed by the ever so lovely Lucie, the campaign was soon joined by the other MODs, their assistants and collaborations, and by all of you.

What started out as a seemingly simple joke quickly grew into a community and support system beyond what any of us originally envisioned.

  In the time since our start, the FreeJonCampaign has been proud to help connect fans and gain support for the arguably shaky start of Jon’s career with YFCz. We’ve trolled our way through the EU tour, attempted to trend #TheEndoftheDay, joined forces with other fan community leaders like Sandy over at KingofDawn, and spawned off other projects like #BringKanseitoTwitter (which even has Jon and fade themselves participating in).

   Currently, with our #30daysoffade project, we are trying to bring attention and support to Jon’s original and rather incredible band.

This campaign has blossomed beautifully, and we are very proud of it, and also very proud that we can share it with other amazing fans throughout the world.

We can only hope that we will continue to expand and hope to celebrate our one year anniversary with even more success and trolling than ever before.

Truly, from the bottom of our international hearts, thank you for continuing your support of our plight to show our love to YFCz, to fade, to their fans, and most importantly of all, our unrelenting efforts to #FREEJON.
