ALSO. does anyone else get victim blamey vibes from Free! Dive Into The Future’s ending. With Hiyori and Ikuya. Like, he closed himself off because he was deeply depressed after losing his favorite friends in his favorite sport and it was so painful he moved to a different country so he could do something else about it. And he’s triggered when he’s reunited with his friends so his scores start going down and he feels harder on himself. Especially while overworking himself. He is actively being isolated by his only best friend !! He brother is on and off contact wise. He’s lowkey lied to not told that Hiyori is the one who saved him and then expected to apologize for yelling at Hiyori to stop getting between his buisness (which Ikuya doesn’t even know how bad it is with how directly Hiyori is isolating him) like. yeah he’s an abrasive person at times but it’s so weird that Hiyori does everything he does for the entire season and Ikuya deserves to apologize to him (Which he already has !)
idk I like when they’re homoerotic and toxic and such but knowing I’m intentionally getting gay baited on a anime that is depicting a domestic abuse coded relationship (Hiyori is very jealous bf coded he just isn’t fully there bc they never say Dating in the show. despite comparing themselves to the couple in the little mermaid.
