The winter holidays came and went. The Weasleyâs stayed at Hogwarts that Christmas, but Jordyn went home. On Christmas morning, Jordyn was surprised to find a package delivered by an owl from Molly.
Dear Jordyn,
Fred told me about his scarf that got ruined by the weather last quidditch game, so I made you a replacement.Â
Happy Christmas, love,Â
Molly Weasley
Jordyn pulled out a gold and red scarf from the package. She threw it over her shoulders and wrapped it around her body. A familiar smell of vanilla and fire mixed together and lingered on the scarf, a smell she found herself sensing often when around the Weasley children.Â
âWhoâs that from?â Mrs. Marchbanks asked.
âItâs from Mrs. Weasley, Fred and Georgeâs mum,âÂ
âWell isnât that nice of her, weâll have to do something in return.â
âI think sheâd like that. We could knit her something this summer, and you could help me!â Jordyn suggested.
âI love that idea,â
Jordyn returned to Hogwarts the first week of January. After returning, it felt like the next months of school rushed together. Nights were spent until the closing minutes of the library, trying to help the twins study, but neither of them focused enough. She also helped Cedric study, which was much easier than helping the twins, since he actually wanted to do well on his O.W.L.S. Jordyn found herself spending a lot more time with her roommates than she ever had in the years before, gossiping about boys, Lissie and Savannah trying to find out which Weasley twin was which and which one Jordyn liked, but she didnât tell anyone. She hadnât even come to terms with herself about falling head over heels for Fred. In the Gryffindor common room, there was another break in by Sirius Black, and Jordyn had her recurring nightmare once more, before Cedric got her more dreamless sleeping potion. Gryffindor won the Quidditch cup, leading to a nightmare party, where Jordyn experienced a drunk Fred and George for the first time.Â
One night in the common room, with Cedric and Jordyn studying, Cedric broke the silence in the room.
âDad got tickets to the Quidditch World Cup,â he started.
âWhat is that exactly?â Jordyn asked.
âItâs a quidditch match that happens every four years against worldwide quidditch teams. This year is Ireland versus Bulgaria!â
âOh so itâs like the Olympics!â
âThe what?â
âIâll explain later. Get on with the world cup.â
âAnd mum isnât exactly the quidditch watching type, and dadâs got an extra ticket, so would you like to come with the two of us?â Cedric asked.
âI would love to! Thatâs so exciting!â
O.W.L.S came and went, and school was coming to an end. Jordyn couldnât wait for the summer.Â
âMs. Marchbanks, Ms. Marchbanks, wake up.âÂ
Jordyn woke up to Professor Sprout shaking her.
âWhatâs wrong?â
âProfessor Dumbledore requested your presence, come with me.â
Jordynâs stomach dropped. She got up from her bed and followed Sprout to Dumbledoreâs office, where he sat by himself, with a phoenix in his office.
âAh, Ms. Marchbanks, Iâm sorry to bother you this late, but we received a letter from your mother, somehow, I assume you have an owl that visits often. Besides the point,â
He handed her the letter. Jordynâs hands trembled as she opened it.
Jordyn,
Hi love. I hate to tell you this news over a letter, but it couldnât wait another week or so until you got home.Â
Your father got into a car crash this morning, Iâm so sorry, but heâs
Jordyn didnât finish the letter. She felt her legs give out from underneath her. She started to cry, trying to keep it silent as she fell to the ground.
âIâm sorry for your loss, Ms. Marchbanks. If you would like, we can send you home now.â Dumbledore said.
âPlease,â was all Jordyn could say.
Sprout helped her up and they went back to the common room, where she packed all her things and wrote quick letters to Cedric and the twins.Â
Dumbledore and many of the other professors met Jordyn and Sprout at the Great Hall. Jordyn had left her note for Cedric on her roommates trunk, along with a smaller note for them so they would give it to him. She then asked Professor McGonnagall to give her letter to the twins.
That night became blocked out from her memory. She didnât remember getting back home, she must have been asleep most of the way, but she remembered hugging her mom when she got to Kings Cross Station and the two cried together. When they got to their house, they sat on the couch and cried some more.Â
There were things left to Jordyn, such as her dadâs guitars. He had so many, and she didnât know how to keep them all. There was a note from him as well, reflecting on how special she was and how he couldnât be more proud of her. She wondered when he wrote it and when he had planned on giving it to her, itâs not like he could have known this would happen.Â
Cedric and the twins came to the funeral. She couldnât have been more grateful for them at a time like this. Cedric left that night, but Molly allowed the twins to stay over. They did what they normally did: watched old movies and listened to records, and they sat together, letting Jordyn cry as her dadâs favorite songs played.
The next morning when they left, she gave them both a guitar.
âJordyn, we canât take these.â George said.
âPlease, my dad would have wanted it. Plus, I have so many more. I know you guys wanted some, so, please take them.â
âOf course,â Fred said.
She didnât plan on seeing them again until the school year. She just wanted to be with her mom until the Quidditch World Cup came along. She spent most of her days knitting a scarf for Molly to have for Christmas. She wrote letters to her friends, and this time it included her roommates, not just Cedric and the twins. Cedric had sent her the details of the World Cup, and as it neared the middle of August, Jordyn was already packed for the school year and the World Cup.
"Where are the others?" I asked Hermione as I took a seat at the Gryffindor table.
"I don't know." She said, looking up from her book.
I chuckled, "Half of the Gryffindor house is missing and you don't know where they are?"
Hermione smiled, "I only look after Ron and Harry. How about you? Don't you know?"
I took a sip of my pumpkin juice, "I wouldn't ask you if I knew. Besides I only look after the twins and Lee."
Harry and Ron then came running in, practically out of breath as they sat next to Hermione.
"Where have you two been?" Hermione asked.
Harry shook his head, "Just a little run, that's all."
I raised an eyebrow, "Where are the twins?"
Ron shrugged, "Don't know, why? You miss Freddie already." He asked, nodding to the sweater I was wearing.
I rolled my eyes, "Shut it."
Then George, Lee, Angelina and Ginny came into the Great Hall, taking their respective seats.
"Where have you four been?" I asked.
They just shrugged and avoided my question all together.
Then Fred came in holding a microphone in one hand and a bouquet of roses in the other.
He then walked to the middle and began to speak into the mic, "Good Evening everyone! May I call on my best friend, Gabrielle Montez, to come here please."
All of my friends looked at me expectantly as I stood up and walked towards him. Every house was silent even the teacher's table was silent, watching what we would do next.
Fred then handed me the bouquet then with a wave of his wand, music played and he started to sing:
Can I call you baby?
Can you be my friend?
Can you be my lover up until the very end?
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend
Stick by my side even when the world is givin' in, yeah
He took my hand then he rubbed his thumb across the back.
Oh, oh, oh, don't
Don't you worry
I'll be there, whenever you want me
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst
He then spun me around before he continued:
If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim
Oh, oh, oh, don't
Don't you worry
I'll be there, whenever you want me
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth, yeah
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first (put you first)
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst
When he finished, he looked at me longinly as he spoke again, "Gabrielle Montez, I want to ruin our friendship and be your lover instead. So, Gabrielle will you love me at my worst and be my girlfriend?"
I looked and his handsome brown eyes met mine, "Yes!" I said, "I will be your girlfriend!"
He smiled and pulled me into a kiss.
I heard Mcgonagall say, "Well Albus, I believe that I won the bet."
But I didn't care.
The boggart stayed in Jordynâs mind throughout the rest of the week. The only peace she found was when she had astronomy on Tuesday. Each night she had the dream of the boggart, to the point where she avoided sleep altogether. She would wake up in the middle of the night from her dreams and go sit on the couch in the common room, putting everything into her homework to try and distract her. She hadnât told anyone about the dreams, about the boggart. The only people that knew were those in the classroom Monday.
On Tuesday during study hall, she noticed Draco Malfoy in a sling, and overheard a conversation between Hermione, Ron and Harry about something that happened in Care of Magical Creatures, a class she had earlier that day. Hagrid had a whole lesson prepared, but it was changed at the last minute, and now she knew why. Then Seamus came running into the Great Hall.
âHeâs been sighted, heâs been sighted!â Seamus shouted, throwing a paper onto the Gryffindor table.
Jordyn ran over and moved the twins away from each other, sitting in between them.Â
âWho?â Ron asked.
âSirius Black!â
Everyone at the table crowded around the paper. A shudder went through Jordynâs spine.Â
âDufftown? Thatâs not far from here,â Hermione said.Â
âYou donât think heâd come to Hogwarts? Do you?â Neville asked.
âThereâs dementors at every entrance,â Fred said.
âDementors,â Seamus started. âHeâs already slipped past them once, whoâs to say he wonât do it again.â
Jordyn watched fear come to Harryâs face.Â
âThatâs right, Black could be anywhere. Itâs like trying to catch smoke, like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands,â another student added.
They all stared at the paper, before Harry went to go back to his work.Â
It was finally Friday night. Jordyn would have all of Saturday to be with the twins, helping them study for their O.W.L.S. at the end of the year. She tried to go to sleep, but maybe had an hour or two to actually sleep before the dream happened once more. So, she got up and headed to the common room. She had gone five days without a goods night sleep, and her friends were starting to notice.Â
âSo this is why the muggles try therapy,â she thought to herself as she dove into her homework from Professor Sinistra. The door to the common room opened, and a tired Cedric walked in.
âWhat are you doing here?â he asked.
âI couldnât really sleep,â she responded, a slight smile on her face.Â
âWould you like to talk about why? Iâve noticed you havenât been sleeping recently.â Cedric sat down on the couch next to Jordyn.
âItâs nothing, just excitement, I guess.â
âExcitement for what?â
âThis new school year. All the great opportunities for this year?â Jordyn tried to convince Cedric, but he knew her too well.
âWhatâs wrong Jordyn? Why havenât you slept?â
âIn Defense Against the Dark Arts on Monday, we went over boggarts, and when I went up, I saw something.â
âWas it a clown?â
Jordyn laughed, âNo, thatâs what I thought it would be. But instead, it turned into Fred, George...and you. The three of you were on the ground, dead. And I couldnât do anything about it. I forgot the spell and I couldnât save you.â
âIt wasnât real.â Cedric said, taking her homework from her and wrapping his arms around her, and small tears came out of her eyes.
âI know it wasnât real, but then Sirius Black was sighted and now it feels all too real. It could be a possibility, and I couldnât stop it. Heâs a murderer.â
âJordyn, I promise you, Iâll protect you. Iâll protect the twins.â
âIâll protect you,â Jordyn cried.
She fell asleep on the couch in Cedricâs arm, and when she woke up from the dream, he calmed her down. She made the rest of the night without having the dream, and when he woke up in the morning for breakfast, he wrote a quick note for her to let her know where he was, then ran to the Great Hall.
Instead of going to the Hufflepuff table, he went to the Gryffindor table, sitting across from the twins.
âWe need to talk about Jordyn.â
âWhatâs wrong? Is she hurt?â Fred asked.
âSheâs fine, mostly. In Defense Against the Dark Arts, her boggart turned into us three, dead. Itâs been haunting her dreams, and she hasnât slept since Monday night, but she did sleep some last night. I know she was supposed to help you study, but I think itâs best if she rests today, gets as much sleep as possible.â
The twins nodded in agreement.Â
âWhat if we got the sleeping draught? Charlie had to make it in his sixth year, and I assume it works. She could get real sleep, and wouldnât have the dream,â George suggested.
âGeorge thatâs brilliant,â Cedric replied. âI can ask Madame Pomfrey or even Professor Snape if we can have some. Iâm sure theyâll understand. Iâll see you boys later.â
Cedric got up from the table, and headed off to the Hufflepuff table.
âCan we come see her?â Fred asked.
âOf course, just make sure to keep it low. She should rest.â Cedric smiled, turned around and went to his breakfast.
âWell, while he gets the potion, we can go be with her, play some records, try and cheer her up?â George said.Â
âWhy didnât she tell us what happened?â Fred asked.Â
George could tell he was offended that Jordyn hadnât come to either of them.Â
âIâm not sure Freddie, but you canât get mad at her when we see her. Sheâs already stressed out as is.â
The two got up from the table and headed off to the Hufflepuff common room.
âWhat if we went pranking with her instead?â Fred asked.
iâm not going to lie i donât think i will ever have a normal sleep schedule ever again:)
Chapter 2:
School years were never truly safe at Hogwarts. Because of quidditch, children were being sent to hospital wings at the end of every week, spending anywhere from hours to weeks with Madame Pomfrey. But that was as dangerous as it got. But then Harry Potter came to Hogwarts. His first year there was fine, a small incident happened at the end of the year with a chess game that landed Ron and Harry in the hospital wing...and somehow because of that they won the House cup, which angered anyone that wasnât a Gryffindor. Jordyn had already spent most of the fall crying over Freddie Mercuryâs death, so she had considered this the worst year ever. The next year, a lot more people were targeted, including Jordyn. She was stuck in the hospital wing, completely petrified, and was unaware of anything going on.Â
Fred and George had visited her in the hospital everyday after classes, and while Fred kept his composure, George would often cry about their best friend. The day that she was cured was the best day for the boys, and they vowed that they would never have time apart from her as much as they could.
Her parents considered not sending her back the next year, but after hours of begging and visits from the twins as well as Cedric, they decided that she would be benefiting by going to Hogwarts. That was when Jordyn decided to no longer tell her parents about what happened at Hogwarts.Â
That summer was the most fun Jordyn had ever had, even if it was just for the first week. The three watched every movie they could get their hands on and listened to every record the twins were missing out on. They went to museums with Jordynâs parents, taking in a new culture they had never really been exposed to, then going home to tell Arthur all about it. But then the boys went on a family summer trip to Egypt, so most of the time, Cedric came over, where Cedric would talk about Cho, a girl in Jordynâs year from Ravenclaw, and Jordyn would think about how much she missed the twins.Â
After hearing that Cedric would come over for dinners throughout the summer, Fred wanted to come back more than ever. At the time, he was unsure of why he felt such an urge to be close to Jordyn whenever Cedric was around, but George knew the minute that Fred had mentioned the letter Jordyn had written about Cedric.Â
The days leading up to her next year at Hogwarts were uneventful until she had met up with the Weasley family at the Leaky Cauldron.
âSo this is the infamous Jordyn Iâve heard all about?â
âHi Mrs. Weasley,â she said, holding out her hand for Molly to shake.
Molly quickly wrapped her in a hug, ignoring Jordynâs hand.
âPlease, call me Molly.â
The simple comment made Jordyn grin, which then made Fred and George tease her the rest of the day.Â
She spent her nights at the Leaky Cauldron with Hermione and Ginny, bonding with Hermione about muggle parents and realizing that her father was actually Jordynâs dentist. She talked about her adventures with the twins, and Hermione and Ginny shared a smile over the sparkle in Jordynâs eyes whenever she mentioned Fred. Ginny told stories about Egypt and Hermione told stories about France and Jordyn couldnât be happier to be going back to Hogwarts.

Summary: (WARNING: this story is for 18+ readers as it contains mature themes)
The Battle of the Department of Mysteries went down in history as the day Voldemort was defeated. It changed the course of the wizarding world forever. However, the flaw with history is that is often molded through those with the most power and the biggest agendas.
The threat of a second wizarding war may have been eliminated but that doesn't mean the political tension in the magic world followed suit. An international league of all the ministries from every major country came together in order to assess the mistakes of the past so that all magical folk can step into this new era in unity.
Reformation arrived in the form of the imprisonment of Albus Dumbledore, change in government leadership, and implementing a new decree in which all witches and wizards are required to obtain a college degree from a magical university to be eligible for employment in any magical career field.
Blair Baptiste; Hogwarts graduate, former Hufflepuff, and niece of the newly appointed Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, is determined to achieve her own success by attending the first-ever magical university in the UK. Being a member of a high-profile family, the wizarding world has its eyes on the young witch. However, things get especially complicated when the secrets of her past interfere with her future.
This story takes place in an alternate universe where the events in the book/films are not entirely followed.
