24. Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?
nope! I hardly ever make resolutions because I know I'm full of shit and won't do them, lol. I have done alright at a few general efforts to take better care of myself this year, like scrolling less, drinking water more, better skincare, and more stretching. I don't really remember if I made any real resolutions, probably it was to learn to drive, which I did not do. alas!

always nice to see you in my inbox with a philosophical question, lili! i actually went to a lecture on socratic dialogues last night and how leading a more philosophical life could be the key to progress and i feel like i you're one of the people i consistently engage in philosophical dialogues with <3
as far as attachment theory is concerned, it's a theory after all (i actually found my notes on it while using them while painting lmfao). pop culture by default simplifies things that science says and attachment theory is more of the same imo. do your early childhood attachments affect the way you engage with others later in life? indubitably, but that's only one piece of the puzzle and trying to explain everything thru the lens if someone has an "avoidant" or "anxious" attachment style is reductive and doesn't actually say all that much about who someone is
i find it useful as far as theories go but it is far from THEE answer to all of relationship issues because if it was, life would be SO much simpler and therapy would be nigh redundant. i think pop culture especially lends itself to this black-and-white thinking that works when ur talking about taylor swift's latest album but is not really a useful framework when analyzing your personal relationships and attachment to others lol
not to mention the point of theories is that they are THEORIES and they are constantly revised and even refuted so to proclaim anything is The Answer and if you only fix that your life would be perfect is delusional. we literally had to take a class on pseudoscience in uni because we had to know what distinguishes psychology from pseudoscience partially because of stuff like this

Hey y'all, I just wanna apologize for not posting or being as active on here. Where I live, I have to be connected to a VPN most of the time to load nearly anything, including Tumblr, obvi. (a paid VPN at that.) I struggle with my mental health a lot and I have a lot of stress going on in my personal life.
