youâre actually really nice, you know. (from bobby!)
simon. / accepting. /Â @dreamter
of all the monikers erik wore, a kind man was rarely one crowned. he supposed, in some senses, it was true--he was dutiful and vigilant and believed  there was a baseline of humanity every living being deserved to be treated with, even homo sapien; with tireless hands, he had offered up his flesh, like sustenance to the starving--and in return, he had felt and known kindness. after the pains of his early life, torrential rain and howling men in black suits that looked more like wolves to him, it was a welcome reprieve. Â
but that was a long time ago--and heâs been a bad, bad man, since. heâs not sure bobby would understand it all, everything heâs seen, everything heâs done, since before he was even born. he wonders of what interest it would be, to hear about their history through his memories, the messy spreadsheet of recollections buried in sound and smell. Â
â i am whatever i am needed to be. â  it was what erik believed: this was what he was at core, a servant to the benefit of mutantkind. whether that behooved he behave with vitriol, or parental warmth, he would adopt any and either stance. he reaches out to bobby, gentle when he cuffs his palm around the back of his head, tender the way he strokes his thumb across his ear and through his hair. a gesture his own father had offered him in comfort many times.  â many of your friends and betters remember me very poorly, and would disagree. iâve been called many things,  kleyntshiger, but, nice? that is new.  â
