"How long can you keep the show going?"
The 8 show was such a good show!! People who say it's all just gore don't get the point of the show or just refuses to acknowledge what the show brutally represents. It's a show that depicts just how vulnerable human nature is when it comes to being exposed to the darkest sides of a hyper-capitalist society. How we are all part of the same social cancer that slowly eats away our entire being. Maybe the last two episodes may have been "lackluster" compared to the other episodes but overall, I still enjoyed the show. For a show with only eight episodes, I appreciate the pacing and storytelling. The visuals of the set is beautiful, but also haunting with all the cameras watching. The intro changed from each episode and it was an intro i'd never choose to skip.
"There's more money to be had." Was a motto everyone in the show had in mind, despite the differences in their class, or how they acted it out. If it feels unfair, it's because it's supposed to be. It's an integral part of human nature to always think of yourself first. No matter how much of a saint you think you are, when faced with danger, in the end you'll be scared for your own skin. It's selfish and cruel. The top floor stay on top because they have the power to stay on top. The bottom floor stay on the bottom because they aren't given any power to even go up.
The show does a good job with it's shtick, where when more time is added to the clock, we the viewers get to watch another episode. We represent the hosts, the ones who get entertainment.
There were several moments where they could've ended the show after they revolted against the upper floors but they didn't. They decided to stay until there was no time left on the clock. They hadn't wanted more time, but they did want to use the remaining time until they left. In the end they decided to milk every hour and minute to get their every penny worth. Everything all started because of greed, and ended with greed. But guess what? The hosts weren't ready to end the show on that note. That's why more time was added to the show. It was only in an act of desperation in the last episode did they think to buy using the time, but that had only amused the hosts. The show couldn't have end here, you have to finish it. Give us a show! A proper truman goodbye, was probably what the hosts wanted. The cameras being destroyed and thus triggering the "The End", effectively finishing the show.
germaphobic plague doctor-themed umamusume (because her creator sometimes has particularness about germs and loves bloodborne)
i unintentionally made her good at dirt because i feel like dirt runners have to be adaptable, but then my friend pointed out that it is hilarious that the germaphobe is best at dirt. therefore lore is that she runs best on dirt because it scares her.
she yearns to make lots of friends with other umamusume but she can't stand physical contact and her neuroses about germs is a real struggle (this is also a bit of her creator bleeding in)
kind of a mom friend but in the annoying doctor way. she just wants you to be at your healthiest! always has bandaids and stuff.
one of the few people who is genuinely (stupidly?) interested in agnes tachyon's research. despite tachyon's unsanctioned research methods, tachyon easily convinces her every single time that all is good.
she is end closer because i'm a fucking end closer. q_q
This floor really was uhh... Something...
Pig City: not an issue. It was fast and fun!
Peppibot Factory: Collectible Toy Noise made this easier than Pizza Box Peppino.
Oh Shit!: Yeah, this level is bad, why? Automation. Most of my losing attempts didn't even feel like my own fault cus the gimmicks bullshit you hard.
RRF: A breeze (Pun intended). Noise chugging a whole car engine and having 1/2 of the Devil's Choice Pizza Slice abilities made a world of difference compared to Peppino's Run.
Fake Peppino: This battle fucked me sideways... The 1st phase is way to easy, but the 2nd? Holy Shit, it can reeeeeally get on your nerves.

Mordecai, after being returned to the fourth floor: According to this, you two are being accused of: Armed Robbery, Vandalism, Drug Abuse, Grand Theft Auto…
Carl: We had a bad day.
Mordecai: And… MURDER?!
Donut: It was a pretty bad day…
FORREST KAYSEN’S NUMBER THEORY
text taken directly from the game!
Forrest Kaysen was a well-known american philosopher and mathematician in the 1960’s. After returning from the war, he published a single book called The Mystery of Numbers. In it, he explained that numbers exert a force on the material world.
He said that each number is a symbol, and intrinsically carries hidden forces to the human being, which have shaped the history of humanity from almost its beginning.
Forrest Kaysen’s theories were so groundbreaking that academics across the country publicly ridiculed him. After months of being locked up in his house, he was found dead hanging in his office. Next to him was a mysterious note. The note said nothing- there were no words, just a list of numbers.
Mr. Swery personally believes the Sintracorp building is being “heavily influenced” by the numbers.
*In a very simplified way, we can say that odd numbers are numbers with positive connotations, and even numbers are malignant numbers.
0 / ZERO
“Zero doesn’t exist, it’s the void. It is neither good nor bad. It is neither odd nor even. It is the purgatory of numbers. It has no meaning. It is infinite. Zero is what you have lost and not realized. It’s what’s to come but you don’t know it yet.”
1 / ONE
“That’s the easiest one. One is the hero of the adventure. It’s the sun in the sky. It’s the arrow that sticks right in the center of the target. It’s unique, it’s the truth without any possibility of doubt. But it’s also the authority, or the loneliness. The strict and unchangeable. It’s the ultimate expression of odd numbers.”
2 / TWO
“Beware of two. The deuce is the worst number of all. It’s the extreme example of even numbers. The deuce is pure evil. It is doubt and indecision. The number of different paths. The two symbolizes the most profound human duality, the diabolic mesmerism of the impossible symmetry, the profound fear of the unknown. The disturbing duplicity. Two is without doubt, the worst number of all. It’s the god of evil. Don’t be confused. two doesn’t mean two things alike. They’re two exactly the same things. Two is a mirror.”
3 / THREE
“Three is strength and action. It is an unstoppable and safe weapon that enters attacking and breaking everything in its path. It is indestructible. Solid, compact, and sharp. It’s a triangle and it has a great magical charge. The three can achieve anything. It is one of the best, of course. Three only has one weakness. It’s a number that suffers a lot of wear and tear. And it has a tendency to become a four.”
4 / FOUR
“Four is a fake number. It hides its weakness behind a facade of security and solidity. It’s a stationary number, and it never accomplishes anything. It is the pact between the four kings, where one of them betrays the others. It’s an old castle that’s in ruins and has never completely collapsed. It’s a limp chair, and even if it holds your weight, you know it’ll break.”
5 / FIVE
”Five is the tight-knit team. It’s a number that can either move forward or stand still. It’s the patience, the logic, the rational. the balance. It’s a number with hardly any magic power that works because it’s pieces fit together perfectly. Balanced too much. It lacks a soul. It’s a function-focused number. Aseptic. It’s boring.” (this is brian’s favorite number!)
6 / SIX
“Six is the number of the lie. A number that hides more than it teaches. It draws your attention to something, but behind that, it’s doing something else. It’s usually related to the snake. It slithers quietly and, without you noticing, it bites you and injects its venom. (Ah, it’s a sex number, too!)”
7 / SEVEN
“Seven is a number with a great magical charge. It’s the one with the most charge! It’s the number of the wizards. Of the good luck. Of the festive meeting. Of the good mood. Also of the inspiration, of the art! It is one of the numbers traditionally most related to luck and mysticism. It’s a number that, although not perfect, makes its defects wonderful. It’s perhaps the most humane number.”
8 / EIGHT
“The eight is an exception to the rule. Normally, even numbers have a malignant connotation. But the eight is the opposite. It’s a number of goodness. It’s a number of abundance… but from humility. It is a community, sharing with others. It is that older person who at first sight imposes, but who in reality has a heart of gold. It is an open temple without walls.”
9 / NINE
“Nine is an odd numbers that is not related to good. It is a dark number. It’s a number with a certain magic change, which remains on the sidelines. Nine is an impenetrable countenance, which seems to hide a great secret. The nine is the observer. It is a nobleman in a black mask who stares at you without coming out of the shadows that hide him. It’s an elegant- and even sensual- number. It doesn’t take part in anything, even though it could. It’s really just a selfish number. It’s just thinking about itself.”
10 / TEN
“Ten is the number of paradise. Unlike zero, it represents complete fullness. Ten is a white number, saturated with light. It is the number of opulence, of the golden age, of glory. The ten is the hero who has already won, and so, even if it doesn’t know it, it’s a lonely number… One that has achieved everything and has everything within its reach. Ten, for all its superficial fame, is a number full of memories and melancholy on the inside.”
swery raises the question of whether the meaning of the numbers describe the floors themselves or if they describe the people on the floors. i personally think the answer varies from floor to floor- for example, i do not think four’s description fits kate, but i do think nine’s description fits spader.
Okay, you hurt your leg during school, what do you do? You'd go to the nurse, right? No. No no no no. You have to go all the way to your classroom on the FOURTH FLOOR, get a pass from your teacher, then GO BACK TO THE FIRST FLOOR, and show the nurse your pass.
A kid literally limped into class late because he hurt himself at the end of recess. He was late because he went to the nurse and was told he needed a pass. And the teacher couldn't give him a pass because you're not supposed let students out 10 minutes after the bell rang.
The teacher says he should have asked a teacher in the cafeteria, which I don't entirely disagree with, but at the same time, I'd probably just go straight to the nurse too.
Like if I was dying, do I still have to go to the fourth floor, get a pass, and walk back down stairs?
