“You and me, playing a little game …” Four Phonica - Divine

 The second source of the inspiration was the final scene of the great Jean Cocteau film “Blood of the Poet” (1932), the first movie of the cult trilogy “Orpheus”. The main characters of this trilogy are “A Poet” and “His Death”, which later falls in love with him and gifts him immortality.

“There is a man and a woman at the table. A game. And this woman reminds us of a statue from the first act. She’s gonna win, and the defeater’s gift is death. Her eyelids wear empty, dead eyes. Slowly she leaves the room, where a buffalo is dutifully waiting for her, carrying all the earthly world on it’s skin.”

3. The Turin Horse. 

The last inspiration source for Divine was “The Turin Horse” movie, directed by Bela Tarr. Technical minimalism, only a few editing gluing, natural camera movements, no zoom, repetition of the same cyclic scenes - all this creates the effect of full presence, dragging the viewer into the world of wistful melancholy. And at the end of the video, leaving him alone with completely new, changed himself.
