With one final blow, the war that lasted much longer than expected ended. The Garde had lost. Together, they fought; together they died; together they cross into the Great Afterward. While the now doomed Earth reels from the loss of the only hope they had, it is bitter sweet for the Garde– they will finally be reunited with their fallen loved ones.

Adam is the first one to wake, and his eyes shoot to the blue eyes he had only seen in his dreams. One runs to him, and they embrace. He never thought he’d see her outside of his own mind. Feeling her hair, smelling the saltwater on her skin, and seeing her smile cleared any doubt he had had in his mind about the war. Despite all the losses, it was entirely worth it. His beach scene had become a reality.

Marina sees Adelina no longer dressed in her convent clothes. It is a foreign sight to Marina, seeing her formerly estranged Cêpan in jeans and a sweatshirt. Adelina shuffles her feet and shamefully refuses to make eye contact with Marina; however, Marina doesn’t care. She runs up to her mentor and hugs her with strength she never knew she possessed. Behind the two, there is a chuckling all too familiar to her. Her arms drop from Adelina and wrap around Hector Ricardo as he greets her by saying “Marina of the Seas”. Then, a pair of arms around her waist takes her by surprise. Eight lifts her off the ground and spins her around. The two continue their budding relationship as if nothing had ever separated them. Tears fill her eyes as she takes in her family. She wishes they had never died, but she also realizes that grief is what drives her Legacies. She wouldn’t have been the fighter she was if they had lived.

Six has a curt reunion with Katarina. It is obvious both are ecstatic to see the other, but their pride prevents a tearful and meaningful meeting. Katarina complements Six’s fighting, her ambition, and her fierceness; it is all Six ever wanted to hear from her pseudo-mother. Throwing caution to the wind, and taking Katarina by surprise, Six embraces her. The war had made Six realize the importance of love. The war had made Six soft. Sam watches the reunion at a distance, nothing but love in his eyes for the woman warrior. Malcolm stands beside him, stoic yet proud of his son and his almost-daughter-in-law.

Nine sees Sandor. He hasn’t aged a bit since Nine remembers seeing him last; now the two appear to be almost the same age. Sandor smiles a truly happy smile, one Nine hadn’t seen from him on earth. Devektra is by her boyfriend’s side, and she and Nine finally meet. Nine wraps an arm around the both of them, and ushers them away while he begins to give them “the talk”. He is just happy to finally see Sandor happy. Lexa trails behind, ready to surprise Vek the second she stops silently laughing at her reaction to Nine’s talk.

Daniela finally finds her mom, after years of searching. This is the first time since she began the war that she allows herself to be selfish and cry. She and her mom embrace, overjoyed to finally be united. Her step dad is even happy to see her and gets misty eyed at their reunion. Her family is finally whole, together, and happy– everything she’d ever wanted.

Ella finds Crayton in the place he’d always been happiest– amidst the chimæra. Dozens of chimæra that had fallen in the first battle of Lorien were frolicking, Crayton in the middle of them all just taking it in. Ella had never seen him so peaceful. She knew he was at home there, and her home was with him. They were home.

John sees a flash go off behind him, and his body goes hot and numb at the same time. His head whipped around to see the love of his life, and he ran up to her with tears in his eyes. He was sick of being apart from her. He held on to her and vowed to never let her go. Sarah pushes him off gently, and steps to the side. The tears in John’s eyes overflow when he sees the salt and pepper hair of Henri as he remembered him, vibrant and full of life. Henri’s eyes begin to water too. He tells John how proud he is of him, how happy he is with how he did, even if they had lost. Mark is by his side during the whole reunion, getting tearful himself at the sight.

Hmm in the TPo6 I was kinda like ooh ok maybe this John x Six thing could work out but then I was like nah John loves Sarah too much
