double date || peter/gamora and thor/jane
Honestly? This better be good, and important. As much as he’s thankful to Thor and Jane for letting him come trick or treating and generally putting up with him, he doesn’t get that many days off and he’d already spent half of them briefing Gamora about the concept of a double date. Which included talking her down about the number of knives which were necessary for this situation. (He’d angled for ‘none’, but that was never going to happen.) It was her who noticed the Bugle article as being anything out of the ordinary. Okay, so they have a library card now, but Peter still can’t read that well. He remembers trying to sound out sub-se-quent and be-ne-fac-tor in his head, and he’s still not sure if the latter’s secretly the Collector or something. He didn’t want to voice that thought to Gamora. It sounds dumb even to him. Anyway. He suspected this meeting had been called because Asgardian stuff and space stuff. It was too good to be true that Peter Quill would get to have a quiet life with his family, clearly. He thought that round thing looked Kree, but he’s not 100% on that because he’s pretty sure if he did see it, it was from running past it at the tail end of a Ravager heist. Which took place about 10 or more years ago. It just seemed weird-familiar. Man, he hated this. Still. Food was always good, and he’d been hoping Gamora and Jane would hit it off. Just so she’d have a friend who wasn’t him. Or an overly-friendly fast dude. Aw, shit, Thor advised him not to get his ears pierced. He couldn’t take them out yet or the holes would close. Awesome. He added that to his mental list of issues with this whole thing. Chill, man. You’ve been negotiating this kinda shit since you were a teenager. At least he’d succeeded in getting himself and Gamora to the right place at vaguely the right time with the right kind of appearance. Except for his gold studs. @lastzenwhoberian @hridhammar @fosteringjane
