In my mind they're a physical representation of Gwi-Ma trying to control her + her self-hatred coming to a head, so nah, I think the flames would be gone forever once the honmoon is sealed. Idm ppl interpreting that differently in their own fics or whatever tho!
The idea of "turning the flames back on" did put a funny image in my head too so here you go lmaooo
