Snuggled my babies before sending Tiri to bed. She picked My Little Pony Best Gift Ever movie time watch ...after hot chocolate for us big girls and chocolate milk for the little (first time she actually drank cows milk any other time she flat refuses, why we’re still breastfeeding). Someone’s proud that she won Chutes and Ladders! My house is a mess, slowly recovering from all the wedding dress and wedding planning that took over our living space, but I’m slowly getting it back together. I’d intended to spend my evening gaining more ground, but I’d made a promise, a simple thing really, to play a board game with my baby. It cost me nothing to play this game, and it made her night. She didn’t have to share me with little sister, who was completely content to watch us play from her playpen and jam out to her YouTube videos of Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, and EDM. Thirty minutes of my time, and I’m now watching my daughters dance around and have a good time. I wanted to clean, knew how easy it would be just to push it off for another day, but I made a promise, and I try my absolute best to never promise anything I don’t plan on keeping. The mess of the house will keep till tomorrow, I’m gonna snuggle my girls by the fireplace, make some hot chocolate, and maybe put on a movie. I’ll probably end the night staring out the sliding glass door while contemplating all the ways I could be a better mom, beat myself over every time I should of had more patience, but I plan to enjoy every moment of goodness before giving in to my daily dose of doubt.
