I wish you would write….an actually evil supervillain Charles
"Charles Leclerc is here again!" groaned Lando as a man wearing the red suit entered the paddock.
Charles Leclerc was someone that was dreaded in the F1 paddock. An unknown entity, he had the FIA eating out the palm of his hand. It didn't matter how ridiculous his requests were, everyone was always bending over backwards to cater to him.
The one time they hadn't, well. Not a single F1 car had managed to start the race. The bastard had somehow managed to stop all the engines by scrambling the software. Fucking new set of regulations.
Max especially had a grudge to hold against him. He pulled at his orange shirt moodily. It was all the Charles' fault he was at McLaren now as a driver for this weekend.
Stupid Charles Leclerc and his stupid ability to convince team principals to do what he wanted him to. Not that Lando was too thrilled about having Max as a teammate. But when the only option was not racing at all...well, you adjusted to the situation.
"It's for equality Max," is what Laurent had told him when he'd burst into his office, demanding an explanation. "All drivers have to change teams every three races. To keep the title fight fair."
Max had nearly had an aneurysm.
"Hello Max," said the man in question smoothly. Max couldn't believe he had let the other sneak up to him like this.
"Hi," said Max shortly, trying not to get distracted by Charles' annoyingly symmetrical face. Honestly, why must the worst people be the most attractive ones. It was very annoying.
Charles' eyes twinkled.
"Tough race last weekend," he hummed.
Well that was one way of putting it. Considering that all the drivers had been forced to drive the SF-26, just because Charles fucking Leclerc wanted to see them suffer, Max would say it was more than a tough race. Pointless was more like it. But it had been Ferrari's 200th year anniversary at Monza and Charles was a Ferrari fan. Which was apparently reason enough.
Honestly, Max didn't know why he was being punished like this. It was bad enough that he had been thrown into an alternate universe where he was driving for eight different F1 teams in a single season. However for some reason this was also a universe where Charles had never been an F1 driver but was a rich billionaire who had no idea about motorsport but too much political influence for people to say no to him.
Which is why he was an advisor for the FIA.
