Denison, a bookkeeper was sent to the Kingston penitentiary for three years by Judge Morgan this morning. Denison admitted a weakness for the race track as the cause of his robberies.

It was explained that his first venture was the raising of figures on money orders, then he began to forge names. He had been a bookkeeper with the company of a ledger and the express order book.

Mr. Thos Findlay explained that the Company had pressed the charge in oroder that it might serve as an example to their employes and others.

T. C. Robinette, K.C, pleaded that It was a first, but this did not meet the approval of the Crown-Attorney, who took up the bundle of forged documents and remarked that it looked like a case of protracted crime.

When the sentence was pronounced, Denison hung his head dejectedly and tears came into his eyes.
