Chapter 1
When the boy awoke, he had to orient himself for a moment until he realized that he was lying in his bed and that the loud voices outside his room had awakened him. The moon was shining through his window, brightening the night a bit. He tried to go back to sleep, but curiosity won and quietly he crept barefoot to the door and tried to open it without the adults noticing. Through the crack he could see his mother and a strange man wearing a brown coat. His father was standing at the dining room table, arguing with the coat-wearing man. "Obi-Wan, you need to look at the well. The water is getting darker, you know what that means!"
The addressed sighed and accepted the cup of tea his mother had made.
"You must take the tourmaline with you!"
Obi-Wan shook his head.
"Do you still have your ancestor's dagger?"
His father nodded and disappeared from his sight for a moment as he returned with a box and took out the weapon. The silver glinted in the light and he recognized a mark on it that looked like a large animal skull. Obi-Wan took it from him and pointed to the empty space below the hilt.
"Put him there. No one will look for him here!"
His father no longer seemed so tense and nodded to the man.
"Thank you for coming. I know these are not easy times!"
Before Obi-Wan could reply, the little boy sneezed, drawing attention to himself. His mother jumped up and joined him in the room.
"Mom, who is that man?"
She just smiled and put him back to bed. As she tucked him in, she kissed him on the forehead.
"Sleep now Din, tomorrow you can discover the world again!"

The stars shone brightly in the firmament as the young Shi`ido Nola walked across the stony path. She pulled her hood even deeper into her face, yet some of her white hair flashed out. Even though she was in her human form, she tried to remain unrecognized. The temple had received too much attention from outside in recent months, and the news she had received from Brix did not bode well. The grove cleared, she could feel a tension, and the next moment Brix jumped in front of her. Startled, she took a step back. She had not expected him outside the building. His lightsaber glowed yellow for a moment before he pressed the control on the side, extinguishing it and attaching it to his belt.
"She didn't make it!" the Kiffar received her with a grim look. His tattoos on the left side of his face made him look more dangerous than his nature actually was. Brix had been taking care of Alma for the past few months. The guardian of the time crystal had needed his protection after her pregnancy left her unable to shepherd the temple as she should have.
"Was he here again?"
Brix shook his head.
"The saber is lost. The Mandalorians couldn't secure it either!"
Torches burned on the walls in the temple, and when she entered the room, Alma was lying motionless on her bed. Brix had covered her up to the neck and you would almost think she was just sleeping. Nola sighed and gently ran her hand over Alma's red hair. Would everything have turned out differently if she hadn't fallen in love with the Mandalorian? Alma, of all people, had found him when a Cannok had attacked him and he had run with his injuries to the edge of the temple's security.
"Where is the little one?"
The kiffar left the room and they ran down a corridor and reached the room with the well. The water in it shone clear and silver, illuminating the masonry. On a chair in front of it sat Brix's sister Valea. The girl was trained as a healer and had assisted Alma during childbirth. She could not have guessed that she would not wake up two days later. A tiny something stirred in her arms and Nola knelt in front of her.
"Alma insisted on calling her Liara. She was fine after all. Even if the news of the Mandalorian's death made her grieve the last weeks. I didn't think she would follow him and leave the little one alone!" she whispered.
Nola stroked the baby's hand and the girl grasped her finger.
"We can't put that burden on her and she can't stay here either!" said Brix in the background and Nola nodded.
"I'll take her to a family and let her grow up there!"
Carefully, she took Liara in her arms and the little one gurgled before sleeping peacefully on. She turned around searching and found a specific spot on the wall. Nola closed her eyes and put her hand on it, only to have a purple crystal appear in the next moment.
"What are you doing?"
Brix appeared beside her and hissed at her:
"The stone must not be moved to another place. Bad things will happen! Planets have been destroyed before!"
The Shi`ido shook her head and put the crystal in the pocket of her coat.
"And it's not safe here, without guardians. We are getting fewer and fewer, who should take over? Just think of Aq Vetina a few years ago. We'll have to risk it. I will watch over Liara and when the time comes, inform her of her fate!"
Brix angrily left the temple. Valea rose from the chair and went after her brother, while Nola took another look around the temple and then followed the others.
Nola looked at the pile of stones under which Brix had buried Alma. The torches had been extinguished and smoke was drifting out of the building.
"Hide him well!"
The kiffar nodded and a moment later the temple disappeared.
Nola hugged the baby to her and made her way back to her ship, which was outside the forest, and flew with the child to its new home - Tatooine.

What if you were born force sensitive?
In star wars universe the only biological requirement to became a Jedi were being born as a Force sensitive.
That roughly meant that you were able to sense the Force and that you had enough midi-chlorians, which are micro-organisms, inside your cells.
The amount of these micro-organisms at your cells were clue of your potential strenght in Force. Technically you could have very low midiclorian count and still be sensitive to the Force.
Depending of the source and canon, the 8 500 - 10 000 were the lowest number of midi-cholorian at blood of kid the Jedi Order were interested to train.
If born at region belonging to the Republic apparently most of children were blood tested at birth and the Force sensitivity was found out. And the Order apparently had some kind of mystical Holocron updating itself with names of every Force Sensitive kid born at the Galaxy. But what excatly happened when a Force sensitive Child was born and theyr blood was tested?
This is not clearly explained anywhere according to the Canon, but the Jedi often did mention that they were not child-snatchers, but that the parents voluntarily gave their kids to them to be trained to be the next generation of protectors of Piece and Order. Not every family made this choice happily and apparently being born as a Force sensitive was somehow problematic for some cultures. Like Dooku was set aside from line of succession while being detected as a Force sensitive.
But this also means that there are unknown number of Force sensitive persons who were never trained at any way to the art of the Force.
Anyway. I assume that there is a few ways to let the family to know that theyr child is Force sensitive.
Naturally the blood test and I assume the doctor/nurse/dhoula what ever was delivering the child would tell it, since it’s kind of nice-to-know thing about your child. But what after it?
I don’t think they had a leaflets to be given to the family titled with somekind of fitting headline like those organ donor, herpes or donate your sperm info strike leaflets they tend to have at Earths health clinics. But there was probably a some kind of way the family and the Order would be in contact.
Would that be a ‘baby’s first letter’ kind of a thing where they offered the family a change to give the child away, personal visit or what. Now I am imagining ‘Hagrid’ of the Jedi order breaking in to their home to have a little talk...
We don’t know at what age they send the children to the Temple but while Cad Bane tried to snatch children from their families to be trained by Darth Sidious, one of the mothers tried to argue him saying that the order had said that she still could keep her child with her since they were still so young. There is no any excat current canon but at the Legends Obi-Wan was mentioned to arrive at the Temple at age of 3 and that was considered quite old age for the children being given to the Order. And by the canon Anakin at age of 9/10 is way too old.

There were alsoa a apparently the most traditional way to become part of the Jedi Order than being given away by your parents.
The Jedi Order had a branch called seekers.
The seekers travelled around the galaxy and were looking for the children who were Force sensitive. This is apparently how Plo Koon found Ahsoka Tano.
I am not sure how this situation worked, but apparently the Seekers convinced the family or other instances taking care of the child to gave them to the Order to be trained.
I’ve been thinking about the Mandalorian. What if the tribe Din Jarin stays with on Nevarro are all foundlings? It wouldn’t matter what species or system, they could all exist in solidarity under the creed “This is the way.”
I think there is a probable chance the Armorer could be a Zabrak. Specifically an Iridonian Zabrak. When IG-11 mentions something along the lines that all species age differently I kept thinking about ‘The Hunt for Eeth Koth’ in the Darth Vader comics. Vader kills Eeth Koth and abducts his new born baby girl for project harvester.
It’s unknown what happened to the baby... after she was handed over to the nursemaids. Mira (the baby’s mother) escapes with her father. He tries to console her with the fact they wanted his granddaughter alive, and maybe someday they could [find her].
I wonder if they knew Eeth Koth was in the process of building a family and part of their mission was to secure the child right after its birth... or it all happened just by chance, arriving the same day as the former jedi master’s daughters birth.
I know the Armorer explains the force and existence of jedi via old tales and songs from mandalore...
Maybe the Armorer could be Eeth Koth’s stolen daughter?
Maybe despite her lineage Eeth Koth’s daughter did not appear to be as force sensitive as they hoped, this could be viewed as weakness and so this baby would not being strong enough to become an inquisitor. Maybe the baby was cast away. There was no valuable threat to the empire, so maybe she was sold and by some situation or another she became a mandalorian.
SO I HAVE BEEN DYING HERE BECAUSE OF ALL THE JAIMSA FFs THAT I READ LATELY.
And, hear me out, I think someone should write a Jaimsa Star Wars AU where Sansa's Princess Leia and Jaime's Han Solo (except Jaime's also a jedi - kinda? But you get what I mean...he's, uh, force-sensitive?) Now imagine the banter between these two that we could get out of this. Right? Yeah, that's it. That's the AU!
Sample lines from the SW OT:
"Why you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking, nerf herder!"
"Look, Your Worshipfulness, let's get one thing straight. I take orders from just one person: me."
"Into the garbage chute, Flyboy!"
"I think you just can't let a gorgeous guy like me out of your sight!"
"I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain!"
"Wonderful girl. Either I'm going to kill her or I'm beginning to like her."

PadMay 4: Force-Sensitive Padme, May the Fourth be With You
I’ve never actually gotten into the AUs where Padme is a Forceful. Somehow, I always felt that that detracted from the character. Padme doesn’t need the Force, she does well enough without it. She is a character who, without the edge that the Force can offer, is intelligent enough and brave enough to face down challenges that would cripple most people. To add the Force to that always seemed disrespectful somehow. Nevertheless, I do have some interesting headcanons about Padme’s relationship with the Force and the Jedi.
Padme has a remarkably strong presence in the Force and all of the Jedi who work closely with the Senators comment on this. She pulses with it. She radiates passion and compassion and has a vitality that shows a dedication to and for life. It’s as if the Force likes to dance with her. Even the weakest of Jedi could sense it and it always shocks them that she isn’t, in fact, a Forceful herself. Her midichlorian count is slightly higher than normal, but that’s it. Mace Windu uses shatterpoint to see many fault lines rest with her, and Master Yoda tells her the Force goes strong with her. They can already tell that she is going to influence change: Change for the people which is perhaps why it seems The Force has granted her favour, or is at least excessively fond of her. It swirls around her.
Even the Jedi who have never had the privilege of sensing her presence talk about her. She is the Senator that is most trusted by the Jedi; some would say she is as close as a civilian can get to being one herself. They trust her because she shares similar goals, because she supports the Jedi, and keeps their secrets due to the help they offered her doing the Federation blockade. Moreover, and most significantly, Padme is a big part of the effort to find the Sith. It quickly becomes apparent that the Sith must have an interest in her. Darth Maul targeted her when she was Queen; she was sentenced to be executed by Darth Tyrannus… and they were all under the bidding of Darth Sidious. The Sith must be interested in eliminating her because they sense, as the Jedi do, that this woman will influence great and important changes. Therefore, Jedi are assigned to, discreetly, watch out for her. She is not made aware of this. By the end of the Clone Wars, the reports to the Council have made it clear she spends far too much time with Anakin Skywalker. In what capacity is unknown, but you are most certainly welcome to speculate.
