Alright, sorry for the long-ish break, we’re back! Well until I go on vacation — but that’s not the point! I’m going right into it because I lowkey really need to be drawing right now but have I done that? NO!

Our second Leech twin, Jade!

Now, if one remembers Floyd’s post, one might thing Jade is the “sane twin.” And for maybe the first two lines of dialogue, your suspicions seem to be confirmed.

And then it goes off the fucking rails.

Of course Jade is not the “I’m gonna jump you right here right now and you cannot stop me” that his brother is. But he is one of the main reasons Azul has so much power in NRC. Going back to the mafia dynamics, he is definitely the blackmailer. He can gather dirt effortlessly, get information from situations you would think there would be NO WAY to get information from, and then succinctly drag you to Azul for a contract or simply do the blackmailing right there, if he feels like it.

His smile is just normal enough for your second glance to dismiss it, especially when near Floyd, but those teeth are still absolutely willing and ready to bite when prey comes towards him. Azul (ignoring his obvious insecurities about why’d they’d abandon him) is genuinely a little (lot) scared of the twins leaving his side because… he’s just fucked?? Jade has enough material on him to 100% manipulate Floyd or anyone else against him if he wanted, and he likely can do little to nothing about it. That’s how effective Jade usually is.

Of course, surprisingly like Floyd I’m realizing, Jade is likely to never do this despite Azuls many internal fears because one thing that octopus always manages to be is entertaining. And while Jades entertainment is different, it does overlap right there. So he might scare him a little bit, get him riled up and embarrass him occasionally — but will never actually let him go. 

(They ring out Floyd in his eel form for a contract once btw. Idk where to put this but it’s so psychotic, goal serving, yet entertaining that I have to say it.)

Oh. The mushrooms. I should probably talk about the shrooms. He is in the one man club of Mountain Lovers basically just to collect mushrooms to experiment with. I… I feel like that’s a sign of something but I don’t know anything well enough to understand it. (Is this what you all clock in me when I ask you all if you think I’m neurodivergent? Anyway…) Floyd is definitely scared of being poisoned from those btw. 

TLDR; You thought Floyd was the scary one? Well they’re both scary, but at least Floyd is upfront about breaking my kneecaps. Jade is going to lie and scheme behind me so well I won’t notice what’s coming until I’m already having a breakdown.
