Handpicked Happening: “Universalness”
Today’s Happening is brought to you by Norman Müller (a self-described “Mexican-born designer with a German name”) and René Serrano, the Mexico City-based founders of Fondeadora, Latin America’s leading creative community. In November 2016, Kickstarter partnered with Fondeadora to officially open to creators in Mexico — read more about that here.
We believe in a shared future: a letter from Norman Müller
When Fondeadora and Kickstarter partnered in 2016, my Fondeadora co-founder, René Serrano, and I joined the Kickstarter team as advisors and became part of a company with global impact. This made us reflect on the importance of an all-inclusive agenda and obsess over helping to create a culture and economy based on “universalness."
I love Kickstarter because it’s all about creating the things we want to see in the world through collaboration. It has the power to break down the imaginary lines that divide people by integrating cultures and beliefs into ideas that resonate with humanity as a whole.
Maybe, even in a small way, collaboration will help us create a culture strongly tied to a shared vision of the future. A future where this universalness — the theme of this edition of Happening — is what will collectively jolt us into a better existence. This way of being is about finding the things we share so we can harness our common possibilities.
