⭐️Night Swim⭐️ . 💫 Megan Goldin💫 . I loved this book and the cool concept of it. Alternating chapters between the story and a podcast transcript this tells the story of a champion college swimmer, who was destined for the Olympics, loses his scholarship and his future is dashed after he was accused of raping the granddaughter of the beloved police chief. The town is at odds, taking sides and Rachel is there for it all. . Rachel Krall is an overnight sensation and a household name after her season 1 of her true-crime podcast sets an innocent man free. Rachel decided to make this case the focus of her new season but what she doesn’t expect is being followed and hidden letters asking her to look into the death of Jenny, a local Girl who died 25 years ago. The official cause of death is drowning but there seems to be more to the case. The bigger question is what do these two cases have in common? . I read this book in a day. This was a PAGE TURNER. ⭐️The Queen of Tuesday⭐️ . 💫 Darin Strauss💫 . Another super unique story! This fictionalized story takes a few real life events and creates a retelling of some parts of Lucille Ball’s life. The author’s grandfather did attend a party with Ball, coincidentally thrown by Donald Trump’s dad, but that’s where the similarities may end. This story focuses on a possible fictionalized affair between the author and Ball. . While I’m a fan of I Love Lucy I had no idea the powerhouse that Lucille Ball was. She was one half of the first high profile interracial marriage and showcased on tv. She was the first pregnancy filmed on tv. Also, because of her irl pregnancy she wanted to film the show in LA which was unheard of at the time. She owned more movie sets then any movie producer and her Desilu company is responsible for many shows including Star Trek and Mission Impossible. Also, so many shows filmed at their studio including Jack Benny, The Andy Griffith Show, My Three Sons, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Hogan’s Heroes and That Girl. She was the first female powerhouse, which is just one more thing to admire about the amazing Lucille Ball. .
