The ungodly wails as he pushes, claws at the girl in futile attemps before finally he collapses, writhing in his last moments as the steel mask burns right through his skull, the sulfuric almost acidic scent is almost nauseating as 'Kairi' breathes slowly out before saffron eyes focus on Leon.

"Get the fuck up, you call yourself the adult in this situation? Please, he was going to turn you into a bloody canvas just for entertainment."

Her harsh words bitter, facial expressions twisted with something akin to disgust as she kicks a rock at his downed figure to add insult to injury further. Before she flicks her wirst, Destiny Embrace dripping with some blood and torn fabric wavering off the edges.

Fear.

Something he hadn't felt in a long time.  Though he'd once been very familiar with it, safe to say he'd grown soft over the years. Cocky and overconfident. It caught him off guard, and left him shaken as he coughs, rubbing at his throat from where the pain emanated. It soothes away some of the achiness, but he can't bring himself to break his gaze from the sight of the young Guardian standing in front of him like a furious shield.

Any other situation, he'd have been embarrassed, ready to shove his way forwards and stubbornly insist he could handle things on his own - though at the moment, in the present, this was something he'd never faced before. They moved fast, and they struck hard. His gun-blade lay uselessly off to the side, and with a stuttering inhale of breath, the pain ebbs lowly as he glances between it and the pair in front of him.
