Summary: On a rare morning when you wake up before your boyfriend you get to admire the way the morning sun hits his features just right, until he catches you staring and he want's to know why.

It was early in the morning, the birds had just started chirping and the morning light had just begun to slip softly through your parted curtains.
The sun casted warm hues of gold and yellows across your bedroom signaling the day that was to come. Your eyes fluttered open as you blinked groggily, your hands coming up to rub your eyes. You knew it was early, but you weren't quite sure what time it was.
You were met with a soft chill from where you and Bob had left the window open last night, a warm bed that was too comforting to even think of leaving, and Bob laying next to you his arm still slung over your shoulder.
Bob was fast asleep beside you, his mouth slightly parted and his long lashes that youâre so jealous of resting against his cheeks. He had a peaceful expression present on his face, obviously still dreaming.
All you could do in that moment was admire how beautiful your boyfriend was. You typically always wake up after him as you're not a morning person, so you never get to really see the way the sun lays on his peaceful features.
You shifted just slightly to get a better look at him as you rolled onto your stomach, resting your chin on your hands as your eyes traced him, taking in the way his hair seemed to illuminate under the morning sun, giving a gold hue to him.
Bob began to stir, his eyeâs flickering open to meet yours. With you staring back at him, a soft smile present on your lips. âMorningâ Bobâs voice rasped out heavy with sleep âYou staring at me, Sweetheart?"
You smiled letting out a small laugh as you were caught red handed. You definitely were staring. âMaybe?â you said your voice equally heavy with sleep.
âMhmm. Should I be flattered or should I be concerned, Baby?â He said with a soft smirk quirking up on his own lips. His eyes closed once again as he laid comfortably against the pillows.
You leaned in and brushed a soft kiss to his cheek before muttering âMâjust admiring my golden boy, can you blame me?âÂ
That made him blush and a crooked grin spread across his face. âYou canât just say things like that first thing in the morning. Gonna be the death of me, Baby.â
He rolled over suddenly, his strong arms coming to wrap around your waist as he pulled you fully on top of him, blankets and all making you shriek as you burst into laughter.
You landed against his chest, now face to face with him. âBob! What are you doing.â you giggled, swatting at his chest but not actually trying to escape your boyfriends tight grasp.
He just held you tighter and buried his face in your neck. âWanted to see my 'golden girl'. Iâm keeping you where I want you, baby. Golden boy privileges after all.â
You laughed even louder, rolling your eyes. âI never shouldâve called you that, Iâve given your ego too much of a boost.â
âI donât know sweetheart, I kinda like when you say it.â He said with a soft smirk before leaning in to kiss you, his hand coming up to cup your cheek while his thumb rubs gentle caresses across your jawline.
You smile into the kiss, softly whispering "All my mornings are golden with you."

Summary: Joaquin has been away on a mission and you are determined to wait up for him, but that doesn't quite go as planned.

Warnings: Joaquin picks reader up. Reader has a sweet tooth. Use of pet names such as baby and Cariño. No use of Y/N. No description of reader.

The front door opened with a soft creaking noise as Joaquin winced to himself. You two had needed to fix that for a while now but kept procrastinating it. He hoped the noise didnât disturb you as he stepped inside, his duffel bag was thrown over one shoulder while his boots clanked against the hardwood as he tried to stay quiet.Â
The apartment was dark and it was peaceful in a way he hadnât felt in weeks. It felt like home, he could see your shoes sitting by the door, your bag thrown on the organizer stand, and the little knick knacks you've decorated the entry way with.
He inhaled deeply, letting the familiar scent of vanilla wrap around him like. Because god, heâd missed you so much. Joaquin let his bag drop to the floor, as he shrugged off his boots and walked quietly inside. He was already smiling, knowing the fact that he could curl up in bed beside you, and kiss you until the mission felt like a distant memory.
A flicker of warm light caught his attention from down the hall, he figured you mustâve turned on a light and forgotten before you had gone to bed. Joaquin walked in and his heart just about melted on the spot. You were curled up on the couch, your favorite oversized hoodie of his swallowing your frame.
You were surrounded by a half eaten bowl of popcorn, some chocolate wrappers, and two fuzzy blankets that had clearly slipped off while youâd been sleeping. Your lips were parted slightly, one hand still grasping the remote next to you.
You mustâve tried to stay up for him. He smiles softly at you and crouches down in front of the couch âOh Cariño.â he whispered softly as he reached out brushing along your cheeks with his knuckles.
You stirred slightly but didnât wake up. He smiled softly, his thumb making soothing motions along your cheekbone now. âYou fell asleep waiting for me, huh baby?â he murmured quietly. For a few moments he sat there watching you sleep peacefully, content to just see you after a few weeks of being away. This was always his favorite part of coming back, just getting to admire you.
After a few more moments, Joaquin slipped his arms beneath your legs and back and lifted you to his chest as he gently adjusted his hold on you. You nestled into his chest, murmuring something incoherent against his collarbone as your head lolled onto his shoulder. He chuckled softly before quickly whispering âShh, baby, weâre just heading to bed.â
The walk to the bedroom was short, as he quickly moved to lay you on the bed making sure to tuck the blanket up around your shoulders. He took a quick moment to just admire you, having been missing this for the last few weeks. But just as he went to pull away your hand reached out and caught his wrist. Your eyes blinked open as you blinked slowly, âQuin?â
âHey, Cariño.â he said with a wide smile on his face as he kneeled near the side of your bed again. âDidnât mean to wake you.â A drowsy smile spread across your face as you sleepily mutter âYouâre homeâ
âIâm homeâ he echoed, brushing his thumb across your cheeks. âYou were on the couch when I came in, baby.âÂ
âI tried to stay up, Quin.â you mumbled, already beginning to drift off again.
âI saw, Baby. Nice snack selection by the way.â You giggled sleepily, and the sound made his entire face light up, as you muttered âYou shouldâve been there.â
âWell, Iâm here now. Maybe we can have a movie night tomorrowâ he said, gently pressing a kiss to your forehead. You reached up and cupped his jaw, leaning in to give him a real kiss. âStay?â
âAlways, baby.â Joaquin whispered, before climbing in beside you and pulling you into his arms, right where you belonged.
Summary: It's a stormy day at the tower, and when you walk out to see your boyfriend laying cozily on the couch with a book in his hand, you have one mission. To join him and take the best nap you've ever had.
Masterlist
Warnings: Reader wears Bob's hoodie and it is described as being oversized and going to her thigh. No description of reader outside of the hoodie mention. No use of Y/N. Bob calls the reader petnames such as sweetheart.
Notes: This is super short and fluffy. I get super tired when it rains and I just wanted to do a cute rainy day drabble where Bob reads to reader. I just know his voice would be so soothing to fall asleep to.
Edited â
The sky outside was a darkened gray.
Thunder violently rolled in the distance, it's loud booms clear as day as they echoed throughout the tower. It had been storming all day, the loud patter of rain present since the early morning.
The storm didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon, as flashes of lightning flashed across the afternoon sky. You wandered into the living room of the tower. Your feet were clad in some fuzzy socks that Bob had gotten you, and your oversized hoodie that you stole from Bob brushing your thighs as the sleeves swayed with each step you took.
Bob was laying on the couch, one arm tucked behind his head, a book propped in the other. The desk light on next to him making everything look softer. The room was a soft yellow and he looked so warm, and so inviting. You were on a mission now.
You padded over silently and climbed onto the couch without a word being muttered. You pressed yourself into the space between Bob and the couch cushions, trying to get as close as possible. His arm immediately shifted from behind his head moving to curl around your waist and pulling you in as if heâd been waiting for you.
He held you close to him, a soft sigh escaping him as you settled. You pressed your face into the soft cotton of his sweater, breathing in the soft smell of detergent and his cologne.
âHey, sweetheart. Is everything okay?â he murmured softly, his voice filled with gentle concern as he kissed the top of your head.
âYou looked comfy. Wanted to join you, the rains making me tired.â you whispered against his chest causing him to laugh softly, knowing how tired the storms can get you.
He grabbed the blanket draped over the back of the couch and pulled it around the two of you, softly tucking it around your shoulders. Rain pattered loudly against the window, the thunder still booming loudly outside the tower.
Bobâs fingers softly stroked up and down your spine, his hand sneaking under the hoodie you stole from him, his touch slow and soothing and his hand warm against your cool skin. While his other hand still held the book he had been reading before you joined him.
âDo you want me to read to you, Sweetheart?â he asked softly, making sure to keep his voice low and steady, as you seem so relaxed.
You nod against his chest eagerly, but too comfortable to speak. Bob reading to you is one of your favorite things in the world, his voice always soothing and comforting. Itâs like he could stop all your worries with just the soft rumble of his voice and his hands on your back.
His voice rumbled, a soft sound as you lay on his chest while he reads to you. You donât catch every word, your brain a little fuzzy from how safe and peaceful you feel in your boyfriend's arms.
The sound of his voice enough to make you slowly doze off as the rain kept its angry tempo, while the thunder kept rolling in every few minutes creating the perfect atmosphere for your nap.
Between paragraphs he kissed your forehead while his fingers softly traced along your arm and up your back. His touch was so gentle and made you feel treasured as he held you in his arms.
You tilted your chin up tiredly, your eyes closed and he smiled knowingly that you wanted a kiss, before bending his neck to press the sweetest kiss to your lips.
âI love rainy days with youâ you murmured, your voice thick with exhaustion. He nuzzled your head gently, keeping his voice at a soft whisper âMe too, sweetheart.âÂ
Outside, the storm continued to rage on. But inside the tower it was nothing but warmth and safety as the gentle sound of Bobâs heart beneath your ear lulled you into the best sleep youâve ever had.
Porch Swings And Promises - Rhett Abbott X Fem! Reader
Pairing: Rhett Abbott X Fem!Reader
Category: Fluff, Slight Angst
Summary: A warm summer evening in Wabang and a porch swing leads Rhett to having a realization while he holds his four year old daughter.
Masterlist
Warnings: No use of Y/N, no description of reader, Rhett doubting himself as a parent, mentions of your daughter being a surprise, mentions of Rhett's own upbringing.
Edited â
Notes: Kind of want to make this a little series with reader and Rhett's backstory, how they met, when they found out they where having their daughter, their wedding, etc if anyone would be interested in that. đ€
The porch swing creaked softly under Rhettâs weight as he gently rocked back and forth,Â
The Wyoming sunset painted a hue of soft oranges and pinks across the sky on the clear summer evening. And on his chest bundled in her softest unicorn pajama set and her hair still partly damp from her bath laid your four year old daughter, her tiny hand curled into his worn flannel shirt.
He had one arm wrapped around her back, the other cradling the back of her head like he did when she was still just a new-born.
"You gettinâ sleepy, Sunshine?" he murmured against her temple. She made a soft humming noise instead of answering him, just nestling closer to him, her cheek pressed right over his heart. Something sheâs done from the minute he held her for the first time.
Rhett exhaled softly, one hand moving in gentle soothing strokes down her tiny back. His fingers were calloused from years of ranch work and rodeo rides but they were always gentle when it came to you and her.
âYou knowâ he said softly looking up, almost more like he was talking to the sky rather than to her âI was realâ scared when I found out I was gonna be your dad. You were quite a shock to your momma and I.â
The wind blew softly, just enough to create a light breeze causing your daughter to curl even closer to Rhett's chest. While inside your home, the floor creaked as you moved through the kitchen, letting them have their moment together seeing the soft sight through the window as you sipped your tea with a soft knowing smile, quickly taking a photo with your phone.
âI didnât really grow up knowinâ how to be soft,â he whispered, tightening his hold on her just a little âI didnât know how to show love the right way and I didnât think Iâd ever be good at this. Your momma had to tell me over and over that she was confident I could do this, and it took me a long while to truly believe her..â
Your daughter blinked up at him with sleepy widened eyes, small and confused as she responds. âYou are good at it, Daddy.â Rhettâs heart melted a bit at her sleepy reply as he kissed her forehead, before resting his chin atop her small head âYou think so, Princess?â
She nodded firmly, her face determined despite her prior tiredness. âYou make me pancakes with smiley faces and you sing the princess songs with me and mommy on movie nights. And, and you always check my closet for monsters, which makes you super brave.â
He let out a breathless chuckle, the kind that made his shoulders shake. âIâm glad you think so Princess.â
She snuggled closer and looked up at him with her eyes that she got from you, before muttering a soft âYouâre the best daddy ever"
And well that, that undid him completely. It wasn't in a loud way, and not through tears either, but in the way he went quiet as he blinked up at the darkening sky as if trying to send up a prayer of gratitude for how grateful he was for you and your daughter. She was asleep before the stars came out, her little hand still fisted in the plaid fabric over his heart.
And Rhett sat there more in love with his tiny daughter and you than heâd ever thought possible. He promised himself that heâd do better than what he had, you two deserved the world and heâd try to give it to you. He promised that heâd love you two gently, and in the ways that his girls always deserved, Forever.

Start Of Something Good - Rhett Abbott X Fem!Reader
Pairing: Rhett Abbott X Fem!Waitress Reader
Category: Fluff
Summary: You work early mornings at the diner. You never expected for Rhett Abbott to come in one morning, and you never expected for Rhett Abbott to ask you for your coffee order.
Masterlist
Warnings: No use of Y/N, No description of reader. Mentions of customers being rude. Rhett flirting with reader, reader loves iced coffee, possible ooc Rhett.
Notes: OH MY GOD I FINALLY FINISHED IT.
Edited â
You always work the opening shift at the local diner.
Monday to Friday, 4am-12pm, you're at the small Wabang diner, serving coffee, cleaning tables, and taking orders.
Most dayâs the only noises present are the rumbling of engines and the soft humming of the street lights flickering. And the only people awake are truckers, farmers coming into town to get their supplies before the sun rises, and the occasional tourist passing through who just comes to get coffee, and who never seems to leave a tip.
Which is why it surprises you the first time he shows up.
Rhett Abbott. A rodeo favorite, the quiet youngest son you only ever saw on the edge of crowds with his brooding energy and arms crossed or scowling behind the wheel of his truck as he pulls into the parking lot of the store. The one who lived miles away from the dingy little diner you worked at.
The one who you shared quiet shy glances with, always looking away when you made eye contact.
The one who you've had a crush on since you were nineteen and saw him stood by his truck in that hat he always wears.
Rhett's not exactly known to be a social butterfly, and heâs definitely not known to be a 5:30 AM diner type of breakfast guy.
You hide your surprised expression well when you first saw him that morning, walking over to take his order, a small smile present on your face. He doesnât say much to you that first morning, he just orders a black coffee, scrambled eggs, and some toast. But he tips well, like, extremely well.
You canât hide the shock on your face when you walk over to the little corner table where he had been seated, and notice the $30 tip, on top of the cash to pay for his meal.Â
With a soft and shocked smile, you grab the tip and place it into your pocket, wondering, what the fuck just happened between you and Rhett Abbott.
But alas, as the door jingles, and you hear the ring of the bell alerting you to another customer. You donât have much time to dwell on it.Â
Then the next morning, he shows up again, the same scenario plays out. Thereâs not much talking, he orders the same thing, and he leaves an absurd tip in comparison to the meal he buys. Always leaving before you can come over and confront him about the money heâs leaving you.Â
After around a week of this nonsense cat and mouse game, he finally talks to you and more than just his order and the simple âMorninâ howâs yours goingâ that you get greeted with each and every time.
Instead, this time when you brought back his scrambled eggs, toast, and went to refill his coffee, he spoke in his low drawl, making the hairs on the back of your neck perk up at the sound.
âHey, uh. If u'donât mind me asking, whatâs your coffee order? Trying to broaden my horizons I guessâÂ
You blink down at him, caught a little off guard, not because he spoke, although letâs be honest, Rhett Abbott talking more than three words at once is a rarity not many people get to experience outside of the people close to him. But rather, because he was asking about you.
Granted it was to give him a recommendation, but still! He was asking about something you like.
You study his expression. He's got his calloused hands wrapped around the slightly chipped mug, and heâs looking up at you as though he's worried you might laugh at him for asking you such a question.
âI really love iced coffee's.â you say, setting down the hot pot of coffee and trying to sound normal, and not like your heart is beating a million miles an hour.
âVanilla cold brew, splash of sweet cream. Although sometimes, I get a bit crazy on pay days and add caramel drizzle to it. A bit sweet but everyone needs a sweet treat it their lives sometimes.â You say with a humorous tone, trying to keep your cool.
He smirks, the corners of his lips curling into up while his gorgeous eyes warm at the sound of your amused tone. âSoundâs fancy.â He hums out, keeping his gaze seated on you his eyes tracing your face.
âItâs not, it just keeps me from turning into a demon in the mornings." You snort out, covering your mouth immediately at the sound that escapes you.
That gets a quiet chuckle out of him, and youâre a little too proud of that. The fact that you just made Rhett fucking Abbott chuckle, even if it was at your own expense.
You pour the refill and start to walk away when you hear him murmur just loud enough for you to catch âThanks for fâtellinâ me.â
You turn back to face him, but heâs already back to focusing on his eggs like he didnât just knock the wind out of you with a five word sentence.
Your dreams decided to play cruel tricks on you that nights. You dreamed about what it would be like to date Rhett Abbott, what his arms would feel like around you, silently scolding yourself in the morning for having such thoughts about someone you knew you couldn't have.
The next morning after you see Rhett exit the diner, you find it waiting for you.
A coffee cup. It's from the coffee shop two blocks down, the one with awful hours, and even worse parking, but the one that makes the best iced coffee youâve ever had and splurge on when you can. The labelâs as clear as day, as it listâs âIced vanilla, cream, caramel drizzle.â
Thereâs a napkin folded neatly beneath the lid, with something scribbled down with almost illegible writing, but you can make it out enough for you to see that it reads âHope I got it right.
â Rhettâ
Your name is scrawled on the side of the cup in thick black Sharpie. The barista mustâve asked who it was for, and he mustâve said your name.
Something about that makes your stomach fill with butterflies. Your heart beats against your chest as you walk towards the window trying to see if he's still in the parking lot. You glance out the window just in time to catch the tail end of his truck pulling out of the lot and driving off. Of course he didnât stay to watch you find it.
You take a sip and Itâs perfect, itâs exactly right and itâs exactly what you would order if you were to go to that coffee shop yourself. You tuck the napkin note into your apron pocket and press your lips together to keep from smiling too big, running across the diner as someone yells, asking for a coffee refill.
The next morning you donât say anything when he walks in. Just setting down his black coffee, and having your usual âMorninâ conversation that youâve come so accustomed to when taking his order. But as you walk away after placing his coffee, he notices the napkin under his mug this time. Your handwriting scribbled quickly across a diner napkin, reading
âYou got it right! P.S. Youâre not so bad at surprises - your favorite waitress.â
He reads it and you catch it. The smallest flicker of a smile curling up at the sides of his mouth. It's something you donât see often, and you watch as he folds the napkin and tucks it in his coat pocket.Â
The next morning, after you watch Rhett leave thereâs another coffee sitting on the table. It's completely different this time than the order you had given him a few days prior. Itâs some kind of raspberry mocha cold brew with a note that reads
âThis one reminded me of you."
And next to his scratchy handwriting on the napkin is a phone number. Rhett Fucking Abbott gave you his phone number, and you intend to use it.
The moment you get to take your ten minute break, you run to a random table. You sit down and whip out your phone, instantly putting his number in before sending him a text.
âDangerous game, Abbott. I could get used to this.âÂ
Not even five minutes later you get a text back.
âThatâs the plan. You free tomorrow?â
And as bite back a smile while, typing back, you begin to think this may be the start of something good.

The tiny pink nightlight in the corner of the room glowed dimly. The light casting soft glittering reflections across the ceiling due to the sparkly princess stickers lining the walls.
It was bedtime in the Abbott household for your four year old daughter. The air was filled with the scent of lavender lotion, your daughter's strawberry scented shampoo and conditioner, and bubblegum toothpaste.Â
Your daughter was snuggled in her pastel pink Disney princess bed, wrapped in tons of blankets with different princesses on them. Rhett sat down on the edge of the bed, getting ready to ask her what she wanted her bedtime story to be tonight. Watching as you cleaned up the bathroom from where she just got done with her bath, a soft smile on his face as you waved at the two of them.
Your daughter blinked up at Rhett with tired eyes, and a soft smile that melted his heart every time he saw it. âDaddy?â she asked quietly clutching her stuffed pink horse that Rhett had gotten her when she was two by its matted mane as she leaned against her pillows.
âCan you tell me how you met Mommy again? The whole story, please?â She said using her best puppy dog eyes that she seemed to get from you.
Rhett chuckled gently as he shook his head, before rubbing his hand over her soft damp hair. He moved to lay beside her on the tiny mattress, curling in on himself just enough to pull your daughter onto his chest and sort of fit on the small princess bed. âYou want the whole story, huh?â he asked, pretending to be surprised by your daughter's request.Â
She nodded seriously, her little face scrunched up with determination. âItâs my favorite.â
âWell then.â he said, glancing toward the hallway where your soft footsteps had just faded away. You probably going to get ready for bed yourself. âGuess I better start from the beginning then huh, Princess?â
Rhett shifted to tuck the comforter around her shoulders before starting the story. âIt was about seven years ago now. You werenât born yet baby girl, you werenât even a thought in our minds at that point. And Mama? She was brand new to Wabang. She was fresh from the city and out of college, she didnât know a single soul and didnât even know which diner had the best waffles yet.âÂ
Rhett smiled down at his daughter whoâs face made it clear she was listening intently, as he continued. âBut she did know coffee. The first week she got here, she got a job as a barista down at the little cafĂš. It was a small place and it smelled like cinnamon and pastry dough.â
âWhat does baresta mean again?â Your daughter whispered quietly as she peered up at Rhett, her eyes wide with curiosity.
âBarista.â Rhett corrected her softly, brushing a gentle kiss to her forehead before continuing âAnd It means she made coffee for people. And one day, your old man walked in. I just wanted a black coffee. But then I looked up and there she was.â
Rhett says, smiling softly, remembering the memory vividly. âShe had the biggest smile I've ever seen. Her apron was covered in flour and coffee grounds, and she had this twinkle in her eye like she knew something the rest of us didnât. She told me good morning like it was the best part of her day, even though I looked like exhausted from a long night of working on the ranch and barely sleeping. And you know what, babygirl?â
Your daughter looked up at him with big sleepy eyes, quickly asking âWhat, Daddy?â
âThat one little smile your Mama gave me? It made me feel better than sleep ever did. Your Mama always remembered my name after that. She would always ask how my day was, what Iâd been up to, how my rodeo results were doinâ. And I ainât the best talker, sweetheart. But with your Mama? It was like breathinâ to me.â
âDid you like her right away?â Your daughter asked in a small voice, holding her stuffed horse tighter as she curled into Rhett further.
Rhett whispered into her ear âMore than I liked coffee, and you know how much Daddy loves his coffee.â
She giggled softly, the sound making Rhett grin widely as he continued. âBut I didnât tell her that. Not at first anyways. We were friends for a while. Iâd come in every few days, and sheâd tell me about the weird regulars she had or some new drink she was tryinâ to make. I started hanging around more and stayinâ longer. I fixed the railing out front and made sure she got to her car safe when she worked late.â
Rhett looked at your daughter, seeing her eyeâs slowly starting to droop, before continuing as his hand began to gently rub up and down her back soothingly. âSheâd tell me I was good. Even when I didnât believe it myself. When I messed up or lost a rodeo or felt like nothing I did was enough sheâd look at me with those sweet eyes of hers and say âYouâre more than enough, Rhett Abbott.â Like it was a fact that I couldnât argue. Your Mama made the world brighter, and somehow she saw something in me I didnât see in myself.â
Your daughter smiled, immediately saying âMommy always makes everything better!âÂ
Rhett chuckles softly, his eyes softening as he looks at your daughter. âYeah she does, Princess. But we werenât together yet. That came after one of the worst nights I ever had. I got thrown off a bull, and it was pretty bad. I had busted my shoulder and ended up in the dirt bruised and sore. Everyone was talking, telling me I should quit, that I wasnât cut out for it anymore.â
He paused, as he remembered the night like it was happening before him. âI remember sitting alone in my truck that night, just angry. I was so angry at myself, and at my family, even at the world. But then there was a soft knock on my window.â
âIt was Mommy, wasnât it?â the little girl whispered, her eyeâs wide with a grin like she was hearing the story for the first time.
Rhett nodded, leaning down to nuzzle her head softly. âYeah, Babygirl, It was. She showed up with a milkshake she made fâme and a first aid kit. She didnât say anything right away, she just climbed onto the bench seat and sat there with me. She let me be mad and she let me cry a little, before then she reached over and took my hand. Then she said something that would change me forever. She told me âYou donât have to be strong all the time, Rhett. Let someone else love you for a changeââ
He paused for a moment, before continuing âI kissed her that night for the first time, right there in the truck. And she kissed me back.â
He leaned over to kiss the top of your daughterâs head, softly muttering "And that was the start of us. And Iâve loved her like my life depends on it every day since. Didn't know I could love someone so much until your Mama and you."
The room had gone quiet. Your daughter blinking sleepily, her eyes drooping and her breathing slowing as she muttered softly âDaddy?â
âYeah, Sunshine?â Rhett responded softly, his hand rubbing small circles on your daughter's cheek with his thumb. âIâm really glad you met Mommy.â she responds softly.
Rhett smiled softly, leaning his head down to rest atop of hers, quietly whispering âMe too, sweetheart. Me too.â
You watched silently from the doorframe, leaning softly against the frame, your heart full as you watched the two most important people in your life curled together on a princess bed wrapped in the kind of love that didnât need fairy tales. Just a coffee shop, a truck, and a little girl who saw the two of you as her whole world.
