Hi, I just wanted to say how much I love your blog and your meta posts, especially about Vader and Ahsoka in the season 7 finale. I was wondering, are you ever planning to finish the fourth part of that meta, that I think you had said would talk about it as being post-Malachor? I was really enjoying it and hoping to see more of your takes on it.
Hello! I see you in my notification and I'm glad to see you having a good time. Thank you for your appreciation.
About post-malachor, it is more a series of questions than what I'd call meta. I've talked about it in scraps but it was getting too speculative for my liking and I was not familiar with Vader in that time period. So, it graudually became a "fic I'll never write" situation.
I think my wish in proposing this idea, was the universe was trying to show him signs that Anakin Skywalker can be salvaged. I was looking into what discovering the saber means for a Vader that let Anakin out for a second, that had now known his search wasn't in vain, and of once again, if only the answer came sooner.
What is it like discovering Ahsoka survived for the second time? What does it mean if he never believed she died?
At the end of their duel, Vader saw Ahsoka disappeared into thin air. He heard her reject Anakin Skywalker as much as he did — but for the opposite reason. He despises him bit she honours him. He heard her promise to avenge her Master, ready destroy herself bringing him down.
I'm thinking about what Vader would think holding the sabers post-Malachor. Now he doesn't need to dwell on of Ahsoka survived. He knows she did, she turned out who Anakin would've wanted. He also got confirmation that Anakin saved her. There was one thing he didn't do wrong, that day 20 years ago.
She survived one impossibility. She can do it again.
Does he let hope threaten him?
