British Airways’ only Airbus A318 sitting on the ramp at London City Airport as she is prepared for the BA1 flight to New York JFK via Shannon.
Many airlines reserve flight number 1 for their most prestigious routes whilst others use flight number 1 for historical reasons.
Previously, BA1 was reserved for the Concorde service between LHR and JFK, but British Airways revived using flight 1 when they announced their LCY - JFK service with the A318s.
Here in Guernsey, our flag carrier Aurigny (randomly) uses flight number 1 for their weekly January - March ski flights to Grenoble on the ATR72.
Can you think of any other airlines who have an unusual flight number 1?
