I’m really horrible at these! When someone asks me to tell them about myself I immediately draw a blank haha It’s like my brain has some sort of filter and as soon as I have to start talking about myself everything just filters into this locked box that I don’t have a key to. Gah. I’ll try!
1). I’m turning 30 this year. In just a couple of weeks, actually. I’m not really dreading it, I just thought I’d have a few more things figured out by now. But that’s the thing about your twenties, i guess, you spend a decade thinking you know where you’ll be or that you’ll have all the answers or something will magically happen when you get that age and everything will work itself out.
2). I watch more tv now than I ever have in my life. I mean when I was in high school and younger I watched tv, but not tons of it. I know I watched the facts of life (i’m sure in reruns), my so called life, and ready or not when I was a preteen and in junior high. and in high school I watched buffy and dawson’s creek, felicity, gilmore girls, 90210 (the original). But now I just seem to have so many shows. i think I might be making up for the years I was in college and I didn’t watch hardly an tv at all. I think I watched whatever shows I was already watching until they finished, but I didn’t start watching tv again until after I graduated. I don’t even know. And there really wasn’t a point to all of this, so yeah.
3). My best friend and i have the same name. We were at starbucks once and the barista realized that we had the same name and she got super excited about that for some reason. Sometimes I forget that people don’t know that I have a friend with the same name and when I talk about her or mention her, they look at me funny until I explain that I’m talking about someone else.
4). I simultaneously love and hate when it’s time for summer. I think I’m more of a spring gal. I love the cold weather in theory, but in practice I’m super clumsy and awkward and trying to figure out how to carry stuff while simultaneously wearing a bulky jacket just never seems to work out for me. Also, I love love love scarves. But I can’t really wear them that often because I just can’t have stuff around my neck, i feel like i’m choking for no reason at all. I love summer because it’s sunny and nice and I can go to the beach and swim in the pool. One thing I do love about living in florida is that the beaches are gorgeous. But i hate it because it’s so muggy and humid and really freaking hot. Some days it feels like I’m walking in soup. I start sweating as soon as I step foot out the door.
5). I really miss living with animals. Both of my dogs died while I was in college and since then i haven’t had a dog of my own. But I’ve lived with people that have had animals. I’ve been living by myself, no roommates, for a few years and the only thing I don’t like about it is that I don’t have any pets. The apartment I live in is too small to have them. Also, I work too many hours so it wouldn’t be fair to any pet I had. At this point I sometimes wish I was back living with my two roommates and their menagerie of crazy pets. They had two dogs, two cats, and at one point one of the cats was pregnant so we also had several kittens. It was horrible. They shit everywhere. It was a madhouse. I once went to sleep on the couch and woke up with two kittens sleeping in my hair. They apparently thought that my nest of crazy, curly hair was the perfect place to take a nap. I did teach the kittens yoga once, though. I was doing yoga and they kept trying to get on my mat and finally I just put them on the edge of it and told them to stay and stretch. and they did. It was hilarious. Every time I would bend or move into a new position they would stretch their little legs out. It was so cute. They didn’t even move when the roommates came home. They waited until I was finished before they walked away. I don’t know how I did it, but I loved it.
Thanks for the ask! Sorry! I talk too much once I get going.
