Hesh was startled from his thoughts by a gentle tap on his shoulder. Turning, he couldn’t help but relax as Kick signed a brief message of encouragement, followed by a quick peck on his cheek, ‘for good luck’. Hesh could feel his heart rate start to slow down, his breaths coming a bit easier. He had Kick and Riley with him, he could do this.
Switching places so that Kick was the one leading in, Hesh patted him on the shoulder to indicate that he was ready.
