Flickit, the torch-wielding pokémon. 

Flickits believe that on some dark, foggy nights, ghost-type Pokémon will come out in abundance to hunt for anything that moves in the woods Flickits reside. So, to protect itself, Flickit's use methods they have adapted since birth to defend themselves against ghost-types and predators. Once old enough to be able to hunt and forage for themselves, a Flickit will search for the skull a long-passed deer Pokémon and will use it as both a hideout and as a form of defence. Next, the Pokémon will search for a sizable branch, strikes it's stone-like paw pads together over it to ignite a fire onto them, then they carry the stick around like a torch. They use the fire inside the skull to act like glowing eyes while bushing up their large tail behind them, giving the illusion of a cursed skull.

Hallowflare, the spirit-warding pokémon.

After evolution, Hallowflare has grown too large to fit inside the skull they carry so instead they wear it as a mask but the skull is still too big to sit properly on their head so as a result they use one paw to hold the weight while using the other paw to carry their stick. They have also started to gain orange in their once dark fur but they still drape the old pelt over themselves as a cloak to conceal themselves in dark places. They still use their mask and torch to ward off predators of which they are still nervous of, but now it seems that they have started to somewhat..enjoy the unnerving appearance they give off..?

Vulpyro, the ghost-mimic pokémon

Now grown up and fully embracing the ghostly disguise they put together (and even gaining the ghost-type!), Vulpyro often wander through their territories while teaching their own kits the ways of warding off ghosts. Some Vulpyros have even been caught teaching the other fire-type fox starter, Fennekin how to use ghost-type moves.. Despite how unnerving Vulpyros may look from afar, they are as loyal companion for a trainer as any starter, fiercely protective of their team members and trainer.
