soft cardigan trans!fitz aesthetic   (x x x x x x x x x)
Idk if you are accepting prompts/requests, but since Pride Fitz is coming upon us, would you be inclined to write anything featuring Fitz in a qpr with Hunter and/or Bobbi? Fic, headcanon, bullet fic, whatever you like!
Happy first day of Pride Month!!!!! Here you go:
Untitled Queerplatonic FitzHuntingbird Fic
Fitz has never really understood the concept of friendship and the rules surrounding it, so itâs no wonder that all his friendships turn into something more. It was Simmons who gave him the word for it at the Academy. Queerplatonic. She knows about it because of her aromanticism. He likes the word. He likes having a label.
He doesnât really know when his friendship with Bobbi and Hunter turns from just friendship to queerplatonic (again, the whole concept of friends vs. other relationships is very confusing), but at some point he recognizes that it has done so.
He goes back and forth, arguing with himself over whether to bring up the label with them. He thinks Bobbi might know what it means, because sheâs been discovering that sheâs aromantic as well, but heâs not sure if Hunter would.
~*~*~*~
One night, he and Hunter are up late. Theyâve had a couple beers and theyâre sitting on the couch in the common room watching a documentary on âThe Mystery Monkeys of Shangri-Laâ Hunter had recorded for him. The documentary finishes and Fitz rests his head against Hunterâs shoulder. âI love you,â he tells him, staring at the television screen as the credits scroll past.
âI love you too,â Hunter replies after a short pause.
Fitz tugs on his lip as he ponders the pause. âNot in a sexual way,â he clarifies after thinking it through. âIn a queerplatonic way.â
âAnd I love you in a queerplatonic way,â Hunter says. âI paused âcause I was trying to decide if I should make a Star Wars reference or not.â
Fitz lets out a soft laugh as he understands what Hunter is getting at. âSave that for Bobbi,â he advises.
âOh, weâve been there, done that,â Hunter tells him.
âTMI,â Fitz says as he gets up.
Hunter stands as well and pulls Fitz into a hug, kissing his cheek. âGoodnight, love.â
âNight.â
~*~*~*~
He never does bring it up with Bobbi. They both just sort of understand without needing to talk about it. Itâs obvious in the way they bicker and squabble like siblings, in the way he goes to her for advice, and she comes to him for comfort, in the casual touches they share, and the way their brains just seem to connect.
Fitz enjoys spending time with Bobbi and Hunter separately. He and Hunter argue about football, and Hunter finds that heâs actually interested in the nature documentaries Fitz enjoys, so they have good discussions about those. Fitz likes working out with Bobbi, learning basic self defense skills heâd always been too anxious to learn from May. He likes spending time with her in the lab.
Most of all, he likes it when the three of them spend time together. He likes it when they make meals together and Bobbi and Hunter bicker about the best way to cook mushrooms. He likes it when they cuddle together, and when they play board games together, and heâd even enjoyed that one time when theyâd each gotten tipsy and Bobbi convinced them to re-enact Star Wars scenes with her. Bobbi had been Leia, Fitz had been Luke, and Hunter was Han. Sheâd even somehow managed to charm Mack into playing Chewbacca. He thinks Daisy has video of it somewhere ready to use as blackmail material should the need ever arise.
He never really thinks about how their relationship looks to others. He doesnât really care about that. Heâs happy, and Bobbi and Hunter are happy, and thatâs all that matters.
Fitzhunter , fluff, argument over soccer â˝ď¸
(read it on ao3)
The worst thing about his boyfriend, Hunter thinks, is histaste in football.
Fitz is great. Fitz is easily the smartest person Hunterâsever met (though thatâs not saying much), and heâs kind in the sort of waysthat confound Hunter entirely, because no one should remember that he likesstrawberry syrup on pancakes, but Fitz does. When Fitz laughs, Hunter wondersif maybe, just maybe, someone elseâs happiness can heal him.
But his football opinions? Nope. Definitely not. His mumwould be rolling in her grave if she knew that her son was dating a ManU fan. Sowould his dad, probably, but Hunter doesnât give a flying shit what his dad thinks,so thereâs that.
Agender Fitz Headcanons
Fitz had always known they were biologically male and that, according to their father, meant they had to act a certain way
Fitz had never been able to act that way, much to their fatherâs disapproval
Fitz had never really understood what it meant to be a man, or even what it meant to be a woman
They didnât feel like either
They just felt like Fitz
They didnât really get to begin exploring their gender identity until after theyâd graduated from the Academy
Theyâd been assigned to Sci-Ops, to work under a Level Three agent who identified as genderfluid and used ze/zir pronouns
It had taken Fitz almost four months to get up the courage to talk to zir about zirs gender
What they learned changed their life
Fitz began identifying as agender and using they/them pronouns
They decided to stick with the name Fitz, since as a surname, it was already gender-neutral
They started attending meet-ups with other LGBTQIA+ SHIELD Agents zir introduced them too
They came out to Simmons and Mum
Mum had accepted them right away. Of course she did. She always did.
Simmons was accepting too, but also went straight into research mode, which made Fitz feel a bit like one of Simmonsâ lab specimens.
Fitz didnât change much about their appearance. Theyâd never really felt much dysphoria about their body, so they didnât feel the need to look any different in that way. Theyâd always preferred to dress in patterns and soft jumpers and cardigans
They went to their first Pride event the following summer with their friends from the meet-ups
They bought a button with their gender and pronouns and wore it every day for a year and a half until one day they didnât fully pin it onto their cardigan and it fell and broke
By then, they were comfortable correcting othersâ assumptions of their gender and pronouns, so while they were sad at the loss of the button, they also realized that they no longer needed it
