When beautiful, reckless Southern belle Zelda Sayre meets F. Scott Fitzgerald at a country club dance in 1918, she is seventeen and he is a young army lieutenant. A small tribute to the portrayal of Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald in Midnight in Paris, which is considered the most iconic representation of them. Within ten minutes Tom Hiddleston and Alison Pill brought the Fitzgeralds to life once again and had all of us fall in love with them.

My wife and I finally got to see Jackie Venson last night at FitzGerald's in Berwyn. We had schedule a weekend getaway to Appleton, WI last October to catch some fall colors and see Jackie perform at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Unfortunately, she had to cancel due to illness. (We did the trip anyway). She also had to cancel her FitzGerald's show at the time. To make up on the, came on stage and said she was going to give us a full two-hour set. She ended up playing about 2.25 hours. It was a wonderful show in a great club. She is an excellent songwriter and singer and her stage presence brings out her wonderful personality. She is also an amazing guitar player. And she somehow makes playing a guitar look so easy. After the show, I got to meet her in the patio of FitzGerald's. Very friendly and easy going, I told her that her live streams during the covid pandemic helped get me through lock down. Her response, "Yeah, it got me through it too. I was bored as shit." I also told her that her guitar playing and stage presence remind me a bit of Frank Zappa. She said she has been told that before, so I am glad to know that other FZ fans also see that in her.
