Fitz unknowingly joined a crap ton of competitions as a kid and won them all
the keeper kids on new years
Sophie, our little sleep deprived gremlin, one ups the group by not only staying up until midnight, but staying up all night.
Keefe gets veeeery excited about noisemakers. He has five in his hands at all times and will use them at any given time.
Fitz makes a bunch of new years resolutions and tried to get the group to do the same. He even tries to get them to write down their resolutions, shuffles then all up, and try to guess who wrote what, but everyone except him has written something along the lines of 'become a gulon' and 'kick Fitz more'. It actually makes the game more entertaining.
Dex was able to get a TV and find the ball drop, as well as make some fireworks to set off at midnight.
Biana throws the party for the group and gets super into decorating. She loves the black silver and gold color scheme and a lot of glitter is involved.
Linh is the only other one to take resolutions seriously. She and tam also re-dip their hair like they do every new year to keep it shiny or whatever.
Tam re-dips his hair with Linh, but other than that isn't huge about the new year. He doesn't get why it's such a big deal after living with the gnomes, who don't really keep track of years. He's still dragged into the party by everyone else though, and gets pie faced and is forced into joining just dance.
Fitz + 7 Character asks
For the wonderful @2minutes2midnight
7) Tickle spots
Fitz is definitely ticklish all over. Literally, if you tickle anywhere on his body he will get uncontrollable giggles. Once, Jemma, Daisy and Bobbi all ambushed him whilst he was watching a documentary in the communal area and they pinned him down with the sole purpose of tickling with no mercy. And let's just say that they didn't know about Fitz's reflexes when it comes to being tickled. Bobbi got a black eye and a split lip from being kicked in the face. He apologized profusely.
you guys....I started doing some research for a “Fitz as a Romantic” meta and I’ve just had like 40 headcanons validated so I’m kinda emotional especially Robin Hood and idk if anyone here knows about my Fitz + Robin Hood hc but basically there’s this specific version of Robin Hood that I had as a kid but it’s from like the 1800s and it has a very distinctive style to it, and I’ve always always held in the back of my mind that Fitz would have this book and get his mum to read it to him and all that jazz... and I hadn’t put my finger on it at the time, it just seemed like the kind of book and the kind of hero he would like, but you know what it also is?
frickin ICONIC Romantic literature
Robin Hood was written in the Victorian era. Like Charles Dickens and stuff.
Is it Dickensian? Is it Victorian?
No. It’s set in the Medieval era.
Why?
ROMANTICISM THAT’S WHY. All that stuff about romantic love, yes, but also grand gestures and sweeping heroism, all that was part of the Romantic movement (which came just before/overlapped the Victorian era) and it was called “Romantic” because it was “like a romance; like a medieval story”
Fitz is a Romantic(TM) . More meta to follow.

I'm currently dying of midterms so the kotlc crew gets to be to!
(basically kotlc kiddos during midterms)
Sophie hasn't slept for like, 2 weeks, of course. Every second spent awake is spent studying, stressing, or both. She's had a total of 4 panic attacks and most of her notebooks are tearstained, but hey, she aced all the tests! (What do you mean??? I'm not projecting on Sophie. I wouldn't do that. It's absurd.)
Keefe glances at his review sheets and notes, but basically let's his photographic memory do all the work. Besides, trying to make Sophie preform basic tasks essential for life is a full time job. He gets As and Bs, except for that one test he purposely failed to annoy his dad. It's fine because he has a high enough semester 1 grade that it doesn't make him fail the semester.
Biana isn't the best test taker, but she gets together a study group and in-between talking and laughing, there's actually some good studying going on.
Fitz is obviously the perfect student. Studies for two hours a day, goes to bed promptly at 9:30, eats super healthy all week, all of that. He also tutors people for free and helped Biana's study group once.
Dex is super smart, but hates studying with a passion. He'll force himself to do just enough to get good grades, but nothing more. He can't help that studying is gross!
Linh joins Biana's study group, which helps a lot. She's really good at the Elvin equivalent of English and history, but has trouble with science and math.
Tam, thankfully, is the opposite of Linh. This means that they tutor each other in their respective strengths.
Marella studies in class if the teachers give time, but other than that doesn't really care. The edges of all her scantrons are singed a little when they're handed back in.
Keefe is an excellent Baker , but sophie can't bake shit
Same with Fitzy and Biana , Fitzy bakes, biana burns
I love the concept of the kotlc crew baking. I don't quite know why, but the idea of them all getting together and attempting to bake is so fun to me.
Keefe is great at cake and cookie decorating. He's an artist, so it just makes sense to me that he would be able to make these super intricate sugar cookies and gorgeous cakes.
Sophie tries so hard, but elven ingredients are super forgiven to her, and she has similar troubles as she did with alchemy. I think she might be able to make a few human recipes okay-ish. Like, they're sorta edible. Sorta. But hey, she loves to taste test!
Fitz is a pastry chef and he loves trying all the hardest things. If he can't get something perfectly right the first try he gets pretty frustrated, but with some encouragement he'll keep working.
Biana just. Burns. Everything. All the time. She once burned a pot of canned soup. It was crispy. Her burning capabilities are almost impressive.
Dex loves to mess around with flavors and find combinations that work super well together. Some of them are a bit... untraditional, but somehow taste really good.
Linh likes working with sugar. Caramel, sugar blowing, all that. She finds it easier because she can manipulate some of the water added to it and make all sorts of cool shapes.
Tam loves everything chocolate. Brownies, chocolate chip anything, chocolate muffins, chocolate sculptures, literally anything chocolate.
Marella likes to cook more than bake. Flambe is her specialty, for obvious reasons.
listen it’s very important to me that at some point leopold fitz built plastic bottle rockets and fired them at the sky with some kind of parental figure
