A fishery biologist’s perspective watching Finding Dory:
The shear PANIC of everyone at that institute….like a lost octopus is a fairly common occurrence…..but the whale shark and baleen whale jumping the wall?!?!?! Followed by a stollen truck that lands in the water and ends up releasing a ton of fish….man talk about a hell of a day for everyone at that institute 🤣
He’s all like “Mom stop taking pictures of me!!” Then he’s like “Alright, one more. Get my good side.” 😂
I had already hiked to the bottom of a canyon in Arizona to try to catch a few desert species, but a thunderstorm was starting to roll in and I knew I needed to get out before I got caught in a bad place. As I was getting ready to go I got a bite and landed this lovely little Brown Trout. Far from the species I was after, but it was nice to finish the day with a fish

Lazy Lothar after breakfast
New Betta
Meet my new Betta, Parzival (named after the character in Ready Player One, one of my favorite movies/books). I got him on May 21, 2019 at Petco. He is one of the spunkiest Bettas I’ve ever had, and he’s a joy to watch. Here’s his color progression over the past couple of weeks, which is actually pretty drastic. Videos to come soon!!
