Ulysses and Aax centric zombie apocalypse au!
So its the zombie apocalypse, where do you go from here? Well, Ulysses for the most part has been surviving. Not thriving, barely even living if you could call it that. But he’s doing pretty well considering he lost most everything when the world ended and in the ensuing chaos. He’s found a new sort of normal, or at least as normal as you can get in the apocalypse. Until a child who could’ve been no more than an infant when humanity as we know it crumbled started following him around.
He tries everything to get them to leave, but its all to no avail. They don’t seem to want to harm him, just hovering in the bushes near his campfires and hiding quite poorly behind overgrown cars as he walks through abandoned cities. It isn’t until he’s resigned to his fate and begins reading out an old story of gods who have been rendered unimportant in their world of chaos and mistrust, that they start inching closer. Not near enough for him to touch, or to see their eyes past a wild curtain of hair, but little by little, they start to listen to his stories.
One night, as they sit next to him by the campfire, just a few steps away, and he tells them the story of Perseus for what must be the hundredth time, he feels a small weight knock into his shoulder as he stokes the flames. They’ve never slept around him, always seemingly falling asleep after him and waking up long before, but somehow, someway, this small fragile thing has decided they trust him enough to rest on his shoulder.
He dubs them Perseus from that night on, and it was all over for him from there. They seemed to have picked up speaking well enough from listening to him or other survivors, and after a while they seem comfortable enough to talk back to him. They start traveling around, and soon the medic can’t even imagine a world where he didn’t have this pale little kid trailing behind him at every moment.
But there’s something… off about Percy. They never seem to eat, at least not in front of Ulysses. They’ll disappear for anywhere from thirty minutes to a few hours every couple of days. They’re always antsy and irritable in the time before, and always return in a much more chipper mood. That and the hoards never seem to bat a rotting eyelid at them, and when they first met, Percy seemed not to know why Ulysses was so avoidant of the monsters. As if she’d never been bothered by the grotesque mounds of rotting flesh and broken bone.
He pushed it to the back of his mind because she seemed in every manner other than those as a normal child. He ignored it as best as he could
Until percy was bit
It was an entirely avoidable situation, and it never should have happened. Ulysses was tired and wasn’t being as careful as he normally would be and one of the dead got the jump on him. It would have been his end had Percy not beaten the monster off of him with a baseball bat. They almost got it, they’d never had to defeat a zombie before and if Ulysses had told him you needed to get rid of the head or else it wouldn’t stop moving then maybe they never would have gotten into this situation. He could have kept believing he was overthinking it, could have denied and insisted it was pure coincidence. But just as Perceus turned away from the creature, and before Ulysses could shout warning, it sank its crumbling teeth into the child’s neck. They whirled around and bashed it’s head in with one swing soon after, but the damage had been done.
But he would not leave the one thing he had been living through this apocalypse before, the only source of hope in an otherwise desolate world, not before he absolutely had to (and he didn’t even know if he could bring himself to even at that). He was prepared to sit and watch as their sanity crumbled, replaced by nothing but mindless bloodlust. He would not leave his child, because they had trusted him and he would be with them to the very end.
So they waited. They didn’t return to camp, he insisted they sit down in an already raided store but Percy insisted they were just fine. They didn’t feel any different. Still they didn’t argue for long, he likes to think it was for their sake, but really Perseus could practically feel the panic radiating off of him. They waited, and waited
And waited
But she didn’t turn. Seemed practically unphased by the whole ordeal actually. It didn’t take long to piece it together after that. Through some course of events, Perseus was one of them. They’d known in some capacity for as long as they could remember. Something about the enhanced strength, regenerative capabilities, and need to feed on the rotting corpses of the dead tipped him off. They’d tried real food before, but that only ended in bile on the ground and an even more empty stomach. He feared that if Ulysses found out about his… dietary restrictions, he’d send them away, but he wouldn't, not now, not ever
And while Percy’s condition may prove useful in many situations when it was just the two of them dealing with the undead, other survivors were a different story. Ulysses knew many others were not willing to care and take the chance on her like he was. Knew that the first time they showed signs of being anything undead, most survivors would shoot them with no questions asked.
The ones who wouldn’t weren’t much better either. They liked to believe themselves more humane, but Ulysses wouldn’t fall for that.He knew they’d lock this small, scared child in a lab. Put them through all sorts of test and clinical trials. Would poke and prod and tear them apart bit by bit until there was nothing left all in the pursuit of a cure. He could not, would not let them take her away.
Every outing within hordes of undead was a danger to the medic, but that was nothing new. The living soon became both of their much more pressing concern. It was easier when they could stop by camps of survivors for a night’s shelter or to trade for supplies, but now, with the bite mark on such a visible spot, it was far too big of a risk to even be seen by the livings.
But it wasn’t important if they were able to stay with survivors. He didn’t care for their acceptance or assistance. The safety they could provide meant nothing next to the potential of their child’s life being lost.
No matter alive or undead, this world will have to pry his cold, undead child out of his cold, dead hands.

But yeah. Maybe zombies are fish shaped for flavor and eventually Percy gets more fished shaped and they have to hide that too
Vorago would probably be included at some point, bring in the whole fish family why don't we?
Also if you couldn't tell the telchins are still being evil scientists. Maybe Ulysses was involved, idk I came up with this like last night and then thought about it for too long and then passed tf out
Not starting this now but maybe eventually idk man just had a thought and wanted to put it out into the world. Fish dad heat emoji
(ALSO why did it take my this long to put together that Ulysses has already gone through basically a zombie apocalypse?? Like I know what happened but I didn't want think about the fact that 'oh that is pretty much a zombie apocalypse yeah ')
Mike Rotunda was with the NWA on 12 August 1990. This is consistent with his USTPO filing on Michael Wallstreet the following month. While Captain Mike Rotunda was in use by 25 November 1989, it is not clear exactly when he debuted, or when he stopped being billed as Captain Mike Rotunda. It had to have been between 08 May 1990 when he wrestled in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and the debut of Michael Wallstreet 18 September 1990.
I want to find out if he wrestled as Michael Wallstreet when he was briefly in NJPW March of 1991 prior to the debut of Irwin R. Shyster.
Someone should edit his Wikipedia page that currently claims Michael Wallstreet debuted in mid-1990, and add Captain Mike Rotunda to his ring names. We must not let this era of his timeline go unheralded.
Uhhhh why are my snails stacking like this???
Enjoy a fish father

best Fish Dad
Haven't drawn him in a hot second and it feels like a crime
Honestly one of my comfort fantrolls and i really wish i had the motivation to draw him and my other fantrolls more, i just love them so much
My little betta boy Percy checking out his new set up! I love making some new diggs for my fishy. Added some duckweed up top and converted the abubias plant from being planted to a decoration over to drift wood with a little shifting of the other already used material.
