Last year I was very fortunate to have been contacted by at least a dozen art supportive, generous people who offered to either bring to me at my studio boxes and bags full of interesting items they had collected, or they invited me into their homes to sift through countless articles they thought I may be able to use in my art. Some were a result of “spring cleaning”, others were simply downsizing or making room for new stuff, and a few were mourning the loss of creative loved ones who had collected these item with artful intentions of their own. It is always a honor and great privilege to be bequeathed such treasures and entrusted to do right by the love and consideration it took for them to reach me. Using a bag of ratty textile scraps, a box of deconstructed hard bound book covers, and reasonably flat yet random connective bits, I puzzle pieced together a new series of collages set with in wood stained trays. These will be submitted for the "Cut to the Chase" Collage-a-Rama 2023 Exhibition coming to @arcgallerysf April 15th - May 6th, 2023.
