“One year, one baby later...”
I don’t really know why I stopped blogging. For some reason I felt like most people didn’t care to hear MY story. Once you’ve read one baby story you’ve read them all...right? Wrong!
I’ve had quite a few people ask me if I intend to blog my labor and delivery experience. Honestly, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to relive it. I’m that woman who was probably traumatized for life by childbirth (although some say that’s normal and will disappear with time). In comparison to others, my story is quite boring. For example, both my sister and sister-in-law revealed they were pregnant not too long after I did, AND they were both due around the same time as me. What are the odds?! My sister’s fourth baby, my niece, was born naturally and all within a 30 minute time span of rushing to the OBGYN and her water breaking. A much more interesting story than mine, for sure. It never gets old! But here I am, almost 7 months post natal, and I think my experience, if anything, will at least make you laugh.
The rollercoaster ride up until that fateful day, however, was definitely something I will never forget. Finding out we were finally having a baby was such a shock, and of course a blessing. Dealing with fertility doctors that gave us the runaround, finding an OB that didn’t bleed us dry, moving and preparing our apartment for baby, and of course preparing ourselves to become a family of three, however, was...overwhelming...to say the least.
