Took a Carnival cruise during Labor Day weekend and felt like I was on the Soul Ship. That's the most black folks I've ever seen on a cruise together. The ship was exactly like the one I was on back in 2011 thus a bit dated decor. I was planning on relaxing with a book and playing roulette before bed. I did most of that but I was also helping my brother burst his cruise cherry. Oh the infinite questions! He looks like our dad but has his mom's personality. We hit the club on the first night and a few shows onboard. I mean it's my 3rd cruise but I tend to read and figure things out instead of depending on 1 person to have all the answers. I realized how annoying it is to know it all for the perceived know it all. I will be saying 'I don't know' much more in life. I did notice that I don't treat my siblings with the same openness and I need to work on this in the future. My relationships with my siblings are touch and go for the part. We aren't close like some siblings but this brother who I went with tends to reach out to me more than the others. It was suggested that I organize a cruise for the siblings. I'll think about it. I had a roommate who was a friend of my brother. She was okay. A bit of a user but she knew enough not to ask me for anything probably because I was a bit standoffish. I've always had a random assigned roommate and I plan to end that with this one. I don't want to sleep with the tv on or listen to others talk on the phone early in the morning. I will do better at saving and planning in the future. I spent some time in the casino at the roulette table. I don't typically play slots cause I don't understand them. I spent $200 won it, lost it, won it and got impulsive and risked it all and lost it. It was fun money and I met lots of people on the table and learned some new techniques. I had my eye on this guy who always came to the table I was playing on. He was quiet and focused, not studious but the kind of guy who takes his gambling seriously. I watched him but didn't overly engage because he wasn't so I figured he couldn't be single and after 3 days in, his lady showed up to the table. I nodded my head and let my eye move on. Being single and meeting other singles is like a needle in a haystack unless it's that type of cruise. Everyone is boo'd up and the women outnumber the men so much that dudes can pull on average 3 ladies per cruise if he has the personality. Of course the guy who had his eye on me was noted treating his lady poorly before we even got on the boat. He always looked mad and I heard him call her a stupid bitch. I watched the tension between them during the cruise and I wanted to say "Sis, you deserve better." Anyways, he walks by me on day 4 and gives me a smile. Wow! Didn't know he had it in him. My brother even peeped it! We laughed and shook our heads. I paid for a couple excursions and realized the limitations my weight gain has created. I couldn't go ziplining, walking on the beach was a chore and hiking in water holding others hands was not the business. I literally tapped out of everything minutes in. I felt old and sad. Like I can't even believe my life of 'adventure' is such a fallacy. What type of adventures can I be really having if I'm not physically capable of exploring the land?! Cruise resolution: Be in better shape financially and physically by my next trip.
