And some of them don't get it at all apparently (and are being weird about it)

the therapist, the male therapist who tells us this woman's story at the end of the book when the account is done he disparages his wife for being upset with his inaction as a father (and probably a husband as well)

"Even the best female employees can cause many problems if they don’t have the childcare issue taken care of. I’ll have to make sure her replacement is unmarried."

This is about the colleague of his who just quit, like the therapist doesn't care he has no introspection he heard Jiyoung's account of her mistreatment through her life how when her baby was young and she was a stay at home mum that she overheard people calling her parasite (and well all know how people treat domestic labour)

He came close to realising something than started thinking of his wife and the colleague came in to say goodbye and we are left with the above

"Looking at the moments and scenes in Kim Jiyoung’s life that she chose to share in our sessions, I realize that I may have diagnosed her hastily. I’m not saying I was wrong, only that I’ve come to realize there is a world that I wasn’t aware of."

him sharing Jiyoung's account is unethical (though how unethical can exposing the past of a fictional character can be idk) and it is supposed to be we are supposed to be uncomfortable that again Jiyoung trusted a man and he pulls this on her

And another thing I hate they left out John's comment about murdering the elderly farmer by lying to him saying he was giving a flu jab but really it was the poison he just used to kill a mare like with that comment alone I knew that he and Penny wasn't going to survive the night and I know there is the "better dead than disabled" trope kind of at play here and this article

said something that got me thinking we don't see any of the relationship between Penny and John in the film nor much in the book other than it was because of John they retired to Coopers Chase and to me that time between moving and the strokes whilst she was still lucid they discussed death especially

"As far as I remember, John also never mentions whether he discussed the possibility of murder/suicide with Penny when she was still lucid. Even if a character can’t consent or communicate, then we can’t assume that they must want to die. That’s apologism for euthanasia. Like Me Before You, which I wrote about more than once, this movie has a sappy and ableist ending and message."
