The first CD I ever bought was Highway 61 Revisited. I got it in the Fopp store which used to be on Coburn Street in Edinburgh and it cost £5. When I was ten years old (and so twenty years ago). And listened to it over and over on this little mini CD player we used to have. I had no idea what the words meant; but loved the way he shaped the words. And this album is mostly non-melodic (aside from Desolation Row) and relies on wordplay. But, blimey, the lyricism in this music is just incredible. And thus it was the language that got me. Still influences me to this day. He has influenced me as much as any novelist or poet I can think of.

Lilo & Stitch Movie Review

Hello Movie Lovers!

Description: A young girl adopts what she thinks is a troubled dog, and discovers that he’s actually an alien on the run. She must convince her alien pet/friend to stay and be part of her family or carry out his sinister mission for earth. 8/10

Opinion: Weirdly enough, I didn’t watch this movie for the first time until very recently. However, I remember the first time my parents took me to purchase a CD in a store. I picked Lilo & Stitch’s soundtrack, which first introduced me to Elvis. So I have this movie to thank for a lot. I’ve been hooked on Elvis ever since.

Now, to the movie. This is definitely a cute one with a very good theme. There are no princesses here, and the characters are slightly more realistic looking than your average Disney movie with like stick figures.

Now, don’t beat me up over this. I do like this movie, it’s just not my favorite Disney movie. Will I watch it every time it’s on, though? Of course.
