Ace was surprised that Jellal wasn’t angry at him for being a replacement son when Whitebeard took him. Jellal explain that he never considered Whitebeard as a father because his father was never in his life.

Ace: news flash Jellal my blood father and your blood father who was my real father we’re actually enemies. Aren’t you gonna like punch me for being his son and resent me for being your replacement.

Also you’re Erza’s half brother so that makes you a friend of mine and we aren’t so different.
