It happened on a Thursday...
Maybe it was "Euphoria" in the morning that made this day at least concerning one of my biggest current problems so much better than those before? :D
Cause after today's English preparation lesson, when we went outside of some class in the first floor, Lea came along. Yeah, nothing unusual, I've even started to hate such coincidental encounters since she's run away from me. To that mysterious appointment that was so much more important than getting to know my reasons. Well. She's been ignoring me ever since, for about a month, not paying any attention to me whom she'd pretended to "like very much" although I'd been sitting in the middle of the assembly hall.
But today, she smiled and said Hi. I mean, a year ago this would have been really nothing unusual to me, but now, after all this fighting we've been through - it's astonishing. Was that just another mood of hers, or did she really mean ME, the Annabelle she'd shouted at weeks ago and then obviously hated?!
Also in the morning: An undefinable look from her 14-year-old daughter. Btw, did I actually ever mention her before? Well, she's sometimes seen Lea and me together in the break, but I don't think she knows more about me than my name. No clue if Lea told her that I'm a book author, but I guess not xD I only noticed her staring at me a couple of times - like today. No matter. Lea's son, who's two years younger than the girl, has never done this, anyway. He's even been quite rude when he was in our groups "Spanish course" on the open day :P
Then the next subject started, another teacher came to lead us to some vacant class - and right in front of me, Lea crossed our way, intending to already leave the building. And darted me a big smile.
Miracles do happen.
I don't quite understand it, but it's certain that I wasn't dreaming. SHE SMILED AT ME!!! I'd never have thought this to happen ever again, not after all that we've been through, not after her ignorance, hatred, whatever... Only yesterday, I was sure she hates me. Now I even doubt she'd leave without an answer. (IF I'd have the guts and made an attempt to talk to her, of course. What's still not very likely. After the motto "Once bitten, twice shy" or "Keep your oh so mysterious secrets to yourself!!!")
Maybe she's not as heartless as I thought.
Maybe she'll somehow overcome her "inner conflicts" that prevent her from allowing herself some feelings.
Maybe today was a start.
Tomorrow we'll get our written marks... excited. But not afraid, fortunately.
