I truly don't understand how people are calling Dana trans-misogynist when she literally has a trans woman, wonderful voice actress Kayleigh Mckee who I will mention loves doing masculine and feminine voice acting I just read about her, on her staff just because Frankie isn't a trans woman.
As a trans POC, I wanna say we as an audience shouldn't have to make someone include diversity when it's obvious that she's on our side. People are allowed to be disappointed that Frankie is cis, but outright attacking someone for making a canon cis character is buck wild.
And I don't wanna hear any bullshit saying, "Well she refuses to make trans women characters!" She is just making characters, she is making characters with identities that she thinks are right for those characters. Would it be nice if she had a trans woman as a character? Absolutely! But in the end, that is up to her. I think people are jumping straight into some crazy conclusions thinking Dana is following some transphobic/misogynistic agenda.
I get it. The world is cruel right now and we're on major alert. But you gotta look at yourselves and think, "is this really what I think it is?"
There are in fact obvious transphobic/misogynistic and overall terrible people that we need to re-direct this attention to, who are actually doing everything in their power to endanger us with laws and bullshit. I BEG of you, PLEASE point this vibe towards THEM.
Because at the end of the day, what're you actually complaining about? People are labeling us as terrorists and restricting our rights - meanwhile, you're spending your energy complaining about a drawing being AFAB and being comfortable identifying as female. And that drawing's actually saying that butch/masculine-looking women can also be feminine.
Sometimes shows aren't gonna represent everyone. And if you're pissed off by that, go make your own show where everyone is represented.
Once again, if you headcanon Frankie as trans, that is okay and good on you for having fun. But what is the point of attacking someone, who isn't spreading transphobia, for not making your wants canon? Who are you to say that you're entitled to force yourself upon someone else's hard work? What does that really say about yourself?
You're not saving or fighting for anyone. You're just being a dick.
