I don’t see fiction and non-fiction as two very contradictor things, I see fiction as truth or even deeper truth sometimes than non-fiction and in terms of how my non-fiction happened, it really was accidental, it is huge amount of work, it was never meant to be, it was always responding to situations where I felt I was positioned both as a novelist and as someone who walk through this country to urgently reopen a space that is closing down. But what a novel does is that so much of protest says that another world it possible; but a novel says that another world exists if you can look at it, another way of seeing, another way of looking at people or relating each other another way of humour another form of solidarity, other delicious forms of hatred whatever it is. There are so many other worlds that do exist which are erased by the overarching narrative that is forced onus by all kinds of forces.
