..I don’t believe how she could do something like that.
Just for.. me?
I can’t even say it was for me. What a selfish thought, as if I can’t acknowledge her act as..
Heroic?..
I’m not sure what to even call it, because I don’t have thoughts now.. There is nothing I can do and nothing will bring her back to me.
With nothing left to say..
I won’t be writing in this any longer.

So our final hamster-in-cup tattoo - number 11 - is a bit of a joke, but also serious. I mean, clearly the space hamster’s helmet is an upside-down disposable cup with a rectangle cut out of it for the “faceplate” and the word “NASA” scrawled on with a Sharpie. The hamster is in the helmet, the helmet is actually a cup, so it is a hamster in a cup. And it’s a tattoo. It is brought to us proudly from https://amandatrouble.wordpress.com/2015/01/20/space-hamster/
I have the kindest of memories of Tumblr. I wrote my first entry one night in my room in Paris. I had been out with a very good friend and after eight or nine glasses of wine she convinced me it was time to start a blog. I picked Tumblr only because I had another friend who was using it as her platform and just landed on it. So, at about 2:30AM, in a small, crappy room, 100 steps from the SARA RER line, I wrote my first entry. It was bad and smelled like the cheap wine that was coursing through my body.
Over the past seven years I’ve posted 905 entries and added nine additional blogs. I used Tumblr to chronicle my trips, my artwork and to write stories about my family and friends. I used it to communicate to people in other countries and to my family (especially my daughter) as I traveled about. My trips took me to 42 countries and thanks to Tumblr I was able to share them all with my daughter.
I don’t know that I ever became a good blogger. But, I can say, categorically, I was able to witness some amazing pieces of artwork, photography and writings on Tumblr. There are so many talented people on this platform and I feel honored to have watched them post wonderful things and grow as photographers, writers and artists.
I’ll be signing off for the foreseeable future. Now, I might take a peek back into the old neighborhood every now and then when I happen to wander past but I truly believe my days as an active blogger are in the rear view mirror.
Take care fellow Tumblrs and keep exploring your art and stay safe out there.
Final Entry- August 28, 2019
Dear friend,
Everything is finally clear. I wrote yesterday to everyone, but I needed to just write again. It’s still a habit for me, and I felt like a little bit more needed to be said. I’ll still be writing but nothing will go up. There’s no reason for it anymore. I want things to be more private since it’s just Kyle and I now. I’m free of it all. It’s amazing.
