Just read your theory and the more I think about it, yeah, Gilear WAS off in that scene. And I don't mean just the luck thing. He also didn't think to drop by Mordred Manor to say goodbye to Fig at least either? He would've at least quickly stopped by to tell Fig the situation, greet her a belated Happy Birthday, then say goodbye. That's not the Gilear we know and love. That's not the Gilear who risked going back to hell to steal Sin Armor to save his daughter. That's also not how he acts when he gets lucky? Cuz we did see him have okay luck in Fallinel with Telemaine. And that time he got a Nat 20 talking to Sklonda.
Personally, my theory is that the person Gilear switched places with, is Bill Seacaster himself, who has, once disguised himself already to bust Fig, Riz, the Hangman, and Gilear out of the court in hell, and, is an archdevil warlock patron
So sorry that it took me so long to answer this, I wanted to percolate on it!
I definitely like the addition of Bill maliciously switching places with Gilear in order to take back his house and wreak havoc on the material plane, my only potential qualm with this theory is that I don't know if Bill Seacaster has an ounce of normal in him, I'm even less confident in his ability to mimic Gilear's affect, even in a strained way- He's the piratey-est pirate who ever sailed the nine hells, but I think overall that he definitely plays a role in whatever Gilear's arc is this season, I'll make sure to livepost my reaction when we find out who Fig's new patron is!!!
CALLED SHOT FIG DISGUISES HERSELF AS KRISTEN OR TRACKER and the sapphics cause all the party drama this season (more than they already have in previous seasons)

hey, so i’m on ep.16 of fantasy high (freshman year) and i looked at the sophomore year episodes and i have to ask, does riz die at some point in sophomore year? does any part of the party die some point in sophomore year?
