RWBY volume 5 is over so we are BACK!

It’s been a long hiatus, so here’s a nice long chapter to get back into the swing of things. Cheers!

This coming after our chapter “‘Jaune’ rhymes with ‘something wrong’“.

This has the potential to be very good or cringe-inducingly bad. 

So it hit me this morning that RT is poised to deal with Weiss and Jaune’s relationship in Volume 5. 

Think about it: RWBY’s probably going to meet back up. Weiss will be glad to see everyone after however many weeks of being cooped up in her family’s icebox mansion. Jaune’s got nice, shiny armor and supposed skills now. 

How much do you want to bet Weiss likes him now and is ready to give him a chance? How much more do you want to bet they go for a full role reversal and have her chase him? I mean, really, what better way to show that Jaune is officially a cool guy now than to have Weiss Schnee finally come around and go after him? Only to be rebuffed because he needs to deal with the pain of losing Pyrrha???

Okay, disclaimer-- I don’t hate Jaune. He seems nice, when his character isn’t bouncing all over the map. Sweet, even. However, I have zero desire to see our favorite icy and socially poised ex-heiress throw herself all over him. 

If RT is going to go this route, please, PLEASE have them write it well. I’m talking exceedingly well-- no breaking character, no immediate stupid ploys from Weiss’s end (I swear, I will murder someone if she picks up a guitar), no super-angst from Jaune (or on the flip side, no complete suaveness. Go for awkward and natural), just. Please.

Please note, I’m absolutely not opposed to them being good friends. The potential is there, and it would be fantastic. Weiss could even help Jaune develop his tactical abilities (”keep moving” and “run in a circle” do work great in Kingdom Hearts, though). Jaune could be a good, steady friend for her. Considering her father, brother, and lack of friends in general, Weiss doesn’t seem like she’s had a lot of positive experiences with guys. Not counting Ironwood, who seems like an intense neutral. Seriously, though, a Weiss/Jaune friendship could be a beautiful thing. And if it turned into something more? Hey, if they can pull it off in a good way, without dispensing with Weiss’s dignity as a character, that’s cool. 

Friday night I made pizza dough and accidentally killed my packet of yeast with water that was a little too hot. 

Don’t kill your yeast, guys. Don’t do it.

... but what if it didn’t? 

Does anyone know how many episodes this season is going to have? 12? How can this be?

-  Plus whatever we offered last time for Glynda showing up at Oscar’s house. Because that. Would be amazing. Actually, instant 1,000,000 points for that scene happening. I really need some Glynda in my life.

- Plus 10 points for Weiss finally busting out.

- 100 if she goes to Patch. Best teammate, right?

-OR 100 if she doesn’t leave Atlas, but the reason is her mom somehow. I have no idea how. Heck, if her mom even shows up for two seconds, lifting a glass of wine to her daughter as Weiss rides her summoned giant suit of armor (or a Nevermore) off into the sea, I’d take it.

- 10 points for any of the main characters mentioning other main characters who aren’t present. Ruby wondering about Yang. Blake’s mom getting Blake to talk about Yang. Weiss... I don’t know how Weiss would get around to mentioning Yang, or anyone really, but you get the idea. 10 for each mention.

- 100 if Qrow hallucinates that Ruby is Summer and starts telling her all kinds of random stuff.

- 1000 points if we get a Ruby/Jaune fist fight! 

- Defenestrator offers infinite points if Ren and Nora run into an evil version of Pyrrha on the trail through the mountains. I like the way she thinks.

- 10 points if Ruby and Jaune walk right into Raven’s camp. That would be pretty interesting.

- 100 points if Ruby has a stare-down with Raven over getting care for Qrow.

- 10 if we get to see the giant Grimm, or whatever’s leaving those sort of hoof marks on the ground.

- 100 if we get a huge fight where Ruby and Jaune bring it down. (But I would actually rather watch Ruby and Jaune fight with each other. I’m ready for some team-leader friction.)

- MINUS 1000 if Jaune just lectures/yells at Ruby and suffers no repercussions/it’s played off like that was all she needed to hear to feel better.

- MINUS 1000 if Ruby just yells at Jaune for like two seconds and then they hug or something. I’m ready for a serious fight here. 

We should have some Blake ones. Hm. 

- 10 points for backstory on chameleon girl.

- Minus 10 if Sun dies! But actually that would be kind of an interesting move for RT. (I would be sad, though.) So only minus 10.

- Plus 100 points for Blake’s parents! Just if they show up at all and remain their lovely selves. I love them.

- Plus 100 points if we meet the new leader of the White Fang. Like she visits or something, I don’t know.

- 1000 points if Adam knocks on Blake’s front door. The timeline is so wonky, and /Sun/ followed Blake-- it’s totally feasible that he’d show up, right? Right. Beyond that, I have no idea what they’d do, but I would watch it.

- 1000 points if Team CFVY shows up during the ensuing fight, or something. Or the rest of Team SSSN. (Presumably they’d sedate Neptune to get him across the ocean. They can stash him in a hammock for the fight.)
