Either way, Dallas couldn’t help kneeling down to them. “Hey, uh, are you alive there? Do you like need to go to the hospital or something?” Normally she wouldn’t do this, but sometimes you can’t turn away from something like this. The world was cruel enough.

She watched him, eyes wide with hesitation and fear. “You don’t even know what you’re asking for. I’m not the same person I used to be and you can’t just barge in here and expect me to change back for you,” she replied evenly. How determined was he to get back into her life?

one can’t help the small tilt of his head and brows furrowing a bit. honestly, soulmates was a weird concept. even then, she obviously was very against the idea as well and he shrugs just slightly now. ‘sorry that this is an inconvienance to you?’ one questions out a bit before rubbing a hand over his hair briefly. ‘i mean, i guess we can forget about it. to whatever degree the world will allow us.’ besides, he was thirty five, and had done just fine on his own without her. and orson didn’t need someone in his life who didn’t really want to be there.
