Writers really be using the word "deliberate" in the most willy nilly ways and way too often in a work
Please, crack a thesaurus and if you're not going to use a word correctly at least use it creatively.

For the "little one" nickname, I totally get it. Even worse when it's meant to be a very raunchy smut fic lol.
Nothing against these writers/readers who are into that, it just kind of makes me feel like a child then I feel weird and end up exiting the app

Like immediate "F don't interact withe Fic again" thing for me.
what makes you instantly say ‘nope’ and quit reading a fic ? fic icks ? ficks ? ahaha
Here’s a non-exhaustive list of things that make me close a tab and never look back when reading a fic. Of course it doesn’t mean the fic is bad, simply that it’s not my taste.
- Use of Y/N (although I can make exceptions if the writing is good, but you will never catch me using y/n in my writing.)
- First person POV (I can’t do it. I just can’t get into a story that feels like someone’s diary entry.)
- OOC behaviour (if I wanted to read about another character, I would.)
- Rushed pacing (Aw they just met! And now they’re….kissing…?)
- Too many typos (There’s only so much I can bear…)
- No paragraphs, just one block of text (I didn’t realize I signed up for a speed reading challenge.)
- Modern lingo in a fantasy setting (slay isn’t a compliment when we’re literally beheading people…)
- Improperly tagged fics (Why is every single Gwendoline Christie character in the tags…is this a fic, or a Gwen roll call?)
And probably SO MUCH MORE, but these are the ones that come to my mind first. Also I love the term ficks, I snorted out loud! 💀
something that irks me, is that when i use to be on wattpad i saw soo many fics about figure skater sunghoon, and at the time lots of my friends would recommend them to me cause they thought id like it.
i actually have a background in figure skating, so whenever i read something that was inaccurate to the sport i had to put the fic down ðŸ˜

I'm sorry but calling the clit the "bean" in a serious way is now my new fic ick.. I've seen it in like 3 fics from last night to this morning and it's so cringe
major ick is when eddie does too much dirty talk when having sex in a fic. like mans would NOT say all that 😠i end up tuning out or skipping forward bc i just can’t read that. unrealistic and just too much
NO I TOTALLY GET THIS!!! Like I don't think it gives me the ick that he's talkative, but usually the dialog itself ends up being too much for me. but im also not super into aggressive degradation either soooo lol
I know it makes me picky, but if something is formatted weirdly on AO3, I just can't read it. Even if the story is good. like, when there's a double space between paragraphs making the text stretch out super far, or when paragraphs are so long I have to scroll and scroll, or when multiple characters are talking in the same paragraph
I know fic is free labor, I write my own, so obviously, I would never complain to the writer or say anything in the comments
but nothing makes me close a tab faster than bad formatting
