Things I Do as a Fiber Witch that just Make Sense
Sewing runes into knit objects when weaving in the ends
Keeping all yarn ends & skein ties in a jar marked with a rune (typically, gebo) to turn into a spell of blessing and friendship when full (I try to time this with the new year)
Using scrap yarn from gifted items on objects that are for me, to bind friendship through "sister" items
Barter or gift objects only. No exchange of money allowed.
Refusing to knit for people if a clear intention can't be held
Loose hairs must go into the knitting
Spraying blocked objects with herbal/floral waters, and/or passing them through incense smoke
Believing yarn can "call" to a certain person and if it does you better use it to make a gift for that person. You can order more for yourself.
Never regifting fiber gifts given to me
Leaving the mistakes. The Universe moted that be.
Custom Tools: using Hugin and Munin stitch markers for my socks (knit in tandem) and making a talisman out of my Portuguese knitting necklace. It has an amethyst bound above the hook.
Using all parts of the yarn.
the best people to knit socks for are people in wheelchairs. It’s the best of both worlds. U get to knit someone socks, they still get used, but they will be in pristine condition for a very long time
✨🍄Update on the Pride Mushrooms that will be available for preorder sometime next month!
✨🍄This is by no means the extent of the many flags that will be available! If you don’t see your flag, let me know and I’ll add it to the list!
Idea: a Stitchwitch’s Grimoire
Okay, hear me out: have y’all seen those embroidery sampler books where the pages are fabric? Okay. So. This is a niche post, but if you like stitchcraft in your witchery, or practice mainly stitchcraft, consider: a grimoire incorporating the idea and taking it further. I’m thinking paper signatures bound alongside fabric sampler signatures. You could use weaving samples as pages, or embroider sigils on scrap fabric, and have some paper signatures attached to some fabric signatures, and the paper signatures could have pattern notes, information, etc that needs writing so you don’t have to sew all the words on. And like. You can do iron resist for writing on fabric, too! And if you dye fiber, you can use dyed stuff in there, too. You can keep pages closed with kumihimo bracelets, a friendship bracelet, an i-cord, or an inkle band. I just, idk, I think this is fun and I wanna do it but I also wanna see other people do it too!

Messy Witch Tip
Your sewing catches your energy. Use "1. 2. 3. I have no worry" when you tie the thread to interupt obsessive thinking and clear your head.
So much magick can be imbued into such tiny stitches. When you wear the finished piece, it feels like a halo.
Blue and red yarn. Art-ish yarn? Carded on the Brother drum carder with reclaimed red acrylic yarn blended in to create neps of red amongst the blue. Can’t wait to ply it up and see how it looks finished!
