Thinking about the how if Francis became a Button through Isabelle, they potentially could've lived at button house after marriage (Francis did make comments about how he liked the place) meaning Thomas would've had to watch their marriage and love without being able to do or say anything to them, not to mention that it might of been in the early days of him being a ghost, so he also would've felt incredibly out of his depth. He might have even been satisfied to see Isabelle happy and call it unlucky fate to get a sliver of closure, only to realise via Allison and the ghosts that his death was in fact planned and it very well could've been him all those years ago in Francis's place. Thinking about how he's probably so emotionally exhausted that small details look like they come as a shock to him but in reality they don't mean anything and he's just begging to feel anything but deep hurt and disappointment (hence the stark difference between his love for Isabelle and Allison). Thinking about how he probably has no other ways to express himself but poetry, and all the other ghosts are bored of it, so he for sure could be dealing with crushing mental trauma and all the other ghosts would just call it sulking.
